A group of 's associates and summer associates recently volunteered their time at PCs for People as part of the firm’s partnership with Business Volunteers Unlimited.

PCs for People provide the opportunity for all low-income individuals and nonprofits to benefit from the life-changing impact of computers and mobile internet. To support the cause, the volunteers sorted through donations, processed desktops and laptops, participated in refurbishing, and performed functionality tests on products.

As part of our ongoing celebrations for Global Pride Month, recently came together from across the globe to hear Yuli Kim from Workplace Pride speak about the power of allyship. Key takeaways included recognizing that allyship is a journey and understanding how everyone can engage at various levels.

Later in the week, colleagues saw Yuli and others from Workplace Pride in The Hague at the annual Workplace Pride International Conference. The firm was especially thankful for the chance to share industry insights during a panel discussion featuring perspectives from Paris Associate Victor Dransard.

Thank you to Workplace Pride for the ongoing collaboration and support. This important work requires collective focus and sustainable efforts all year long.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, earlier this week the London Legal Walk 2024 brought together legal professionals to walk 10 km across London while raising funds for free legal advice services on the frontline. As the cost of living rises, the need for free legal help with debt, benefits, housing, asylum and domestic violence is greater than ever. These organisations provide crucial support to individuals in need, ensuring access to justice for all.

Earlier this week, 🇩🇪 proudly participated in the official launch event of Tent Partnership for Refugees Deutschland. With over 2 million refugees, Germany is now the third largest refugee-hosting country in the world.

This strong coalition of businesses is set to make significant strides in supporting refugees and their integration into the workforce. As a firm, we are grateful to Tent for uniting businesses to drive positive change.

Our membership in Germany complements our existing partnerships with Tent across the UK, France, Poland and Spain.

Prague recently took part in the virtual sports challenge for Centrum Paraple. The proceeds from entry fees help to finance the Paraple Center's main service, a three-week residential social rehabilitation for those with spinal cord damage.

The Paraple Center has been helping people in wheelchairs with spinal cord injuries and their families cope with difficult life situations since 1994. It provides support for those who have just become paralyzed after an accident or as a result of an illness, as well as for those who have been living like this for a long time.

Our team of runners, walkers and bikers ranked #20 with 1,092 km completed!

's Sabina Krajíčková was on vacation at the time, which meant she contributed an impressive 300 km while walking up Mount Huashan in China, often cited as one of the most dangerous hikes in the world. What an achievement!

Prague recently hosted the final rounds of an exciting international private law moot court competition. Klára Drličková, an Associate Professor at Masaryk University and ELSA Brno collaborated with the team to create a compelling and intricate case centered around the delivery of technology for producing green energy from plastics.

Participating teams initially submitted written arguments for either the plaintiff or the defendant. After a thorough review, the top four teams were selected to advance to the oral rounds, giving students the opportunity to develop their written and oral advocacy skills.

Congratulations to Team Dépreçage, and thank you to all participants, ELSA Brno, and Masaryk University for attending.

Last weekend, Brussels participated in the Brussels 20km Legal Run, which brings together individuals working at international law firms in Brussels to join forces and participate in the annual run through Brussels.

Individuals participated and fundraised for La Flèche —Maison d’enfants Reine Marie-Henriette asbl, a charity that supports over 200 children each year by providing care and support for ages 0-18 years.

celebrated National Pro Bono Day this week by joining the Sydney and Perth Walks for Justice to raise funds for organizations that provide access to justice for those most in need, such as Law Access, Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS) and National Justice Project (NJP).

Our Sydney Office hosted employees from both RACS and NJP, where colleagues walked the event together as the firm are proud to support the wonderful work of National Justice Project Refugee Advice & Casework Service and LawAccess.

Annalisa Allegrini and Noemi De Micco received the award for having actively participated in numerous charitable initiatives, for their volunteer projects and for having fundraised the most in the Annual National Milan Marathon.

🤝 During the holy month of Ramadan, we hosted a "Fast for a Day" initiative across our UK offices, where joined their Muslim friends, connections and colleagues to fast from sunrise to sunset. The initiative not only fostered unity but also raised funds to support respective office-nominated charities. Iftar Dinners were then held in the evenings, allowing colleagues to celebrate together and learn about cultural differences.

🍴The spirit and celebrations extended beyond the UK, with Iftar Dinners and Eid celebrations taking place right across our global network, where clients and colleagues gathered to celebrate and share traditions together.

🇨🇿 Prague took to the ice earlier this week to try out something new for their team get-together!

🥌 Resident curler Simona led the group as they embraced the ice and enjoyed a fun and challenging curling session together.

⚽ Birmingham recently took part in the Taylor Wimpey West Midlands annual charity football 6-a-side in aid of The Matt Gallagher Foundation .

Former Coventry Rugby Club player, Matt Gallagher was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in October 2023 and has set up the Foundation to help raise awareness for the disease and to raise much-needed funds for people living with this terminal illness in the West Midlands area.

Despite (narrowly) missing out on a trophy this year, our team very much look forward to next year's fundraiser already!

Leeds welcomed clients and contacts to the office terrace last week for an energetic morning flow with Eden Heath from Ryde Studios, followed by breakfast and networking in aid of local charity LEEDS BABY BANK. Thanks to Eden and all guests who joined the team!
