Hi hi 👋

It’s been a long time since I introduced myself and we’ve had so many new followers since 🥰❤️

I’m Tharwa! Woman with a face full of makeup in the photo. (Ps you won’t find me like this everyday. I hardly wear makeup except on special occasions, so I hope you don’t think I’m catfishing 😂)

I’m a mum of 4 kids, 2 girls 👧 2 boys 👦 and married to my amazing, supportive man Said.

That’s where Tharwa Said Photography comes from ❤️

I was born in Kenya 🇰🇪 grew up in the UK 🇬🇧 and then relocated to Belgium 🇧🇪 about 9.5 years ago to join my man and grow our family.

I was a kindergarten teacher in the UK 🇬🇧 working with children, babies previously too (in a creche) and being creative planning activities for them has always been a passion.

When I moved to Belgium 🇧🇪 and after a gap raising my first 2 children, I rediscovered that passion through photography. It allowed me to continue doing what I love despite a language barrier.

Although I do speak abit of Netherlands now 😊 I also speak English and Swahili fluently. Everyday in my work and through the children, I’m learning more and more Netherlands. So I will always try to speak Netherlands with you and when I’m stuck I would change a little to English (I hope you can be patient with me 🥰)

I’m a family photographer specialising in Pregnancy 🤰 and Newborn 👶 photography. And ofcourse we also love to celebrate the 1st birthdays with a cakesmash 🥳🎂

For mums, especially when you're the one always behind the camera, you never get any in the moment images with your kids. So our Mummy&me sessions are all about being in the moment, closeness and playful. I'll be there to capture just that for you 🥰

Hi all,

I hope you’ve had a great time the past couple of weeks and enjoyed your time with your families. Happy new year 🥳

I wanted to make this post to update you all on changes that will be taking place in 2024.

Our packages and prices are going to stay the same as the past last 2 years. With the rise of living costs, we have taken in so much of the extra costs and for now we will continue to do so. We will look into it again when needed in order to make sure we are making good financial decisions to stay in business. Thank you all for your trust and continuous support 🥰❤️

In order to continue providing the best and great service and quality that you all love, we do need to also stay healthy. And this means taking time off very regularly (like in weekends) so we are not working 7/7 days. And getting to spend time with my family too in a fun environment than work environment. Many know that for the past few months, I have been working with the kids in the studio. As much as it has worked, and was ok, it’s something that I didn’t enjoy and also felt it was not fair for my kids that the only time they saw mum was during at work. Combining the photo studio and concept store together with the kids has unfortunately been a lot more than I can handle, so we will be closing the concept store. We will still have the DIY doopsuiker option available and we’re working on what would be ideal on opening the store. Keep an eye on Kenzar Concept Store for an update on this 🙂

So this means that I also have to have a proper work schedule. Newborn sessions from now on will only be possible in the weekdays. So please do plan to book in in advance as we only have 3 days out of a week for photo sessions. And other days are for editing, administration, marketing etc. If you have older siblings in school please let me know and it will be scheduled accordingly so. The newborn part of the session will be in the weekday and we will then schedule a second appointment for the family part of the session usually on a Saturday. This means that we can fit in atleast 4 families for the family part of their session in one Saturday than only being able to do 1 family per Saturday for a full newborn session. So more availability for families with older siblings 🙂🥳

Saturdays will also be first and foremost reserved for maternity and cake smash sessions. Although if you can do a weekday for either, please let me know and it would be highly appreciated 🥰 with that there will only be 2 Saturdays available per month for sessions and appointments. So the message is, book as soon as possible. Once the Saturdays are scheduled, the only availability will be a weekday or the next following month.

Family sessions are always in the evenings (golden hour), and these can be in the weekdays (during school holidays) and Saturdays (any other day) dependable on the weather ofcourse 🙂

And finally Sundays will be a day I don’t work anymore as it’s family time ❤️
