Measles is highly contagious and outbreaks are occurring in many countries.

Be sure your family is up-to-date with routine vaccines, especially if your child is due for MMR or MMRV vaccines.

👉The MMR vaccine helps to prevent Measles, Mumps, and Rubella, and is given after age 1.

👉The MMRV vaccine also protects against Varicella (Chicken Pox) and is given at 4-6 years of age.

Unsure if your child is up-to-date? Consult your child's vaccine history or talk to your health care provider to confirm.

If you recently travelled and develop any of the below symptoms - with or without a rash - immediately contact your health care provider.

LETTER REGARDING OZEMPIC SHORTAGE

Dear Valued Patient,
We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to inform you about an important update regarding the availability of Ozempic. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen
circumstances, Ozempic will be on back order (not available at any pharmacy) until at least March 2024.

We understand that this news may be disappointing, especially for those who rely on Ozempic to manage their diabetes. However, we want to assure you that your well-being remains our top priority. We are committed to finding suitable alternatives to ensure you receive the necessary treatment during this period.

If you are currently using Ozempic to manage your diabetes, we
kindly request that you have your pharmacy fax us with a suggestion for an alternative medication that would be covered for you. Our team of healthcare professionals will carefully
review the suggestions and work with your pharmacy to find the most appropriate substitute for you. Rest assured, we will do everything in our power to ensure a seamless transition and
minimal disruption to your diabetes management plan.

For those who are using Ozempic for weight loss purposes, we recommend calling our office to schedule an appointment with your family doctor. They will be able to discuss alternative options and guide you towards the most suitable course of action. We understand that change can be challenging, but we are here to support you every step of the way. Our dedicated team is available to answer any questions or concerns you may have during this transition period.

We’re excited to announce that in February of this year, Elmdale Family Health Organization will be evolving into Talbot Family Health Organization. Through increased efficiencies, this transformation allows us to better allocate resources towards delivering exceptional patient care.
While there is newness associated with any change, nothing will change with your access to your current family physician.

Please note that as of January 27, 2023, we will be moving to our temporary location at

Our clinic will be located in the A wing of the south building. Paid Parking is available for patients in the regular hospital parking lots.

In conjunction with this transformation, in April 2023, we will be moving to our new office located on Talbot st, in St. Thomas, to make ourselves more accessible to patients from all areas of the city and surrounding area. We will be sharing more information about our new location as it becomes available.

Key points you should know:
 This will not affect your relationship with your current family physician in any way.
 A combination of in person and virtual appointment times remain available to you.
 This will not affect our commitment or availability to you and your family.
 After hours availability will remain unchanged for urgent matters.

We are also excited to announce that we have a new website (active as of January 20, 2023) which can be found at www.talbothealth.ca. You may use this website to book appointments. Additionally, we will be posting new information about our new location in the coming weeks. You may also hear from a few members of our supporting team as we work to communicate more frequently and provide greater access should you have questions.

NOW BOOKING! A COVID Cold and Flu Care Clinic is a medical clinic that can test, assess, and provide treatment for people with COVID-19 and other cold and flu-like illnesses. These clinics are for children and adults who have symptoms that aren't improving, or are getting worse, who may be at high risk for bad outcomes from Covid-19, and who don't have a family health care provider to go to. At Elgin's new COVID, Cold and Flu Care Clinics, you can be seen by appointment only in West Elgin, Straffordville or St. Thomas.
