**** BIT OF A LONG NOTICE *****
I do apologise, it’s a bit of a long one.
So as a lot of my lovely customers are aware. I had to take on a second job a little while ago . This was due to the rising costs, I ended up working all hours for not a lot of wage. (If you can call it that)
So I decided to take on a second job so that I could give my kids some sort of life. This meant reducing the amount of cakes I took on. Though I had to make sure I took on enough orders to cover the overheads of the business. So have been up every morning at around 2-3am to start my caking until around 7-7.30 where I get tv my children ready for school then off to my second job.
To be honest it’s absolutely exhausting me. I feel like I’m missing out with time for my children. I’m always working mornings/evenings and weekends with the cakes aswell as my day job and it’s just too much whilst trying to make everything work.
I have had some great news recently where my day job at St Hugh’s Prep School has just offered me a permanent contract so I’m
No longer temp staff. I have decided to accept this offer as it’s more hours than I’m currently on. Monday to Friday with all holidays off!
So what does this mean for the business. I have decided and it’s not been a very easy decision as cakes are my life, but as of today I will no longer be taking anymore orders on for the foreseeable future.
I need to think about myself and my kids and my health.
All those that are booked in this year and next year are absolutely fine as the business won’t close until the last order has gone out. Insurances will be in place until that time too so it will still all be above board.
Those with enquiries that I’m in contact with at the moment, those are safe too as they have all been accounted for.
It’s not been an east decision, but it’s a decision I’ve decided to take.
I do want to say a huge Thankyou to everyone who has supported my business over the years. You don’t realise how grateful I am for your continuous business. I would never have been where I am if it wasn’t for all of you. Even those who just follow and share my work. It’s all been a big help. So a huge huge Thankyou goes out to you all.
I can recommend some lovely cake makers for all of your future creations
