Beppe Kessler - Little Treasures

Beppe Kessler is an internationally renowned artist who works in painting, sculpture, and jewelry. She is an abstractionist and a specialist in research and using alternative materials.

Kessler refers to her work as Little Treasures, miniature sculptures composed of natural, vintage, and contemporary materials. Alpaca, silver, horn, mother of pearl, blood coral, silk, textile, photographs, acrylic, plant materials, resin, and seeds are used in her pieces.

Schmuck Fair 2024 at Internationale Handwerkmesse Munich


Sewing needles and roll-on deodorant balls, human hair and artificial intelligence: anything goes in contemporary studio jewellery. The special SCHMUCK show at «Handwerk & Design» showcases the latest works by jewellery artists from all over the world. It is the most important special show for contemporary jewellery art worldwide.
The SCHMUCK will take place at the Fairground Munich in Hall B1.

Once a year, Munich becomes a city of jewellery: artists, gallery owners, museum curators and collectors from all over the world travel to «Handwerk & Design» to find out about the latest trends in the world of jewellery at the special SCHMUCK show. What makes this exhibition so special is that no theme or motto is given. The most diverse pieces of jewellery of all generations, schools, cultures and continents from the most diverse materials and techniques rendezvous here – since 65 years! The impetus for the show came from art historian Herbert Hofmann back in 1959. Such continuity speaks for itself: today, SCHMUCK forms the core of Munich’s reputation as a centre for contemporary jewellery art.

Ralph Baaker - distinctive and alluring

Ralph Bakker is a Dutch contemporary jewelry designer who lives and works in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Bakker has had numerous solo exhibitions in the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland. He works in Gold, silver, niello, gold leaf, enamel mirror, and mother of pearl.

Baaker’s work can be delicate, petaled, and display a gentle tension. It can also have spikes, jagged edges, and industrial-like rivets, presenting a wearability challenge. The work is so well executed and distinctive. Perhaps you can’t help asking yourself, “How would that look on me?”
