PHCV Mission #20 Recap part 1!
We were honored to have a special guest Honorable Mayor Donald Grebien attend for the first time! Our relationship with the City of Pawtucket started during the peak of COVID-19! PHCV was tasked to reach people who Kriolu was their first language. Together we were able to provide critical support during a time of need. We look forward to continued collaboration and support for the health and wellbeing of our people!

Another great mission. We did an environmental scan of the islands healthcare infrastructure. We Visited All the small health centers and the main Hospital, The goal is to have these centers with etiquette emergency equipment and knowledge to help facilitate the health staff do their job. We do need support from the community, to be able to continue. Thank you all for amazing support.

We would like to thank the Coast Guard, Dr. Helder and Djojoi for welcoming our brava team. They were determined for them to experience, the boat and the process on how patient are transported and treated from Brava to Fogo. We are greatful for this amazing team of professionals. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

November is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month! In collaboration with the University Hospital Agostinho Neto’s Urology department, we hosted a presentation and open discussion. We learned about how the disease affects the islands, new advancements and opportunities! We were ecstatic to hear that the support PHCV has provided through technology enhancements and surgical interventions has significantly contributed to reducing medical evacuations. This is one of our key performance goals as we evaluate our work!
This is all very inspiring and will continue to motivate us to continue building local capacity.

This is where it all started in 2009! The development in the past 15 years and 20 missions is impressive! Thank you for establishing the foundation to this impactful mission.
