June 27, 2017: My Esquire Anniversary

Maybe this is why I've been up since 3:00am this morning ...

Today marks a significant, legendary, and iconic milestone—my Esquire anniversary and the birth of my alter ego, "Big Daddy Esquire!"

On this day, seven years ago, I took the oath and was sworn in to practice law in the state of Illinois after an arduous journey of perseverance and determination to pass the bar following law school graduation. Seven years after passing, I celebrate the seven-year struggle it took to now celebrate seven years as a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois. Never forget your beginnings.

For years, I watched all my law school classmates thrive in there chosen states of practice, whereas I could only watch from afar and dream of being an attorney one day. On March 31, 2017, the day I received notice that I finally passed the February 2017 Administration of the Illinois Bar Exam, I posted a Facebook Live video where I cried like a baby after reading that letter. Long before my two-month journey dealing with COVID, passing the bar was my epic battle.

Reflecting on this journey, I am reminded of my favorite TV shows, "Scorpion" and "Suits." My firm, The Marques Eason Law Group, operates much like the team of geniuses in "Scorpion," bringing together diverse skills and expertise to solve complex problems. We strive for the same excellence and top-notch service seen in "Suits," fiercely advocating for our clients' best interests.

A heartfelt thank you to all of my real estate, probate, and estate planning clients who have placed their faith in us. Your trust has allowed us to be a part of your journeys, and in turn, you have become an integral part of mine over the past seven years.
