TRY was excited to receive a Proclamation for Alcohol Awareness Month. It was so appreciated. Can I tell you about Board of County Commissioners Vice Chair Nimasheena Burns though, who asked pertinent and pointed questions of. me, allowing me to speak about solutions and ideas that I have put forth and implemented for years. Suspensions and arrests are not warranted in XYZ situations such as possession of a can of beer or v**e pod on school grounds. These are illegal possessions but think about it, there is a misdemeanor diversion program post arrest when a young person is given a citation in the community. Together for Resilient Youth - TRY has remedies before law enforcement is called. I had the opportunity to say as much. Yes Commissioner Burns, I accept with elation the opportunity to meet. What a powerful voice, presence and advocate you are, this has never happened before.
