- Responsible for training staff on all aspects of their position
- Must be able to multitask, manage multiple events, clients, staff at the same time, ensuring every event is on time, properly served, and running according to the expectations set by management..
- Arriving on the day of an event prior to staff to prepare set-up, service, and break down assignments for the entire scheduled staff.
- Conduct a pre-event meeting to discuss specifics of the Banquet Event Order. i.e., menu, floor plan, timeline, job assignments, reset instructions, table assignments, etc.
- Provide bar staff all necessary documentation required to perform their assigned job duties.
- Monitoring service staff for on-time arrival, ensuring the entire staff is in required uniform, properly groomed, conducting themselves in a professional manner, and completing duties assigned in an efficient manner before, during and post event.
- All set-up assignments need to be completed 15 minutes prior to the start of the function
- Banquet Floor Manager should be prepared for a walk through with management to confirm all aspects of the BEO have been addressed; staff and room are ready for the start of the event.
- Greet client/guest of honor upon arrival; confirm any necessary information with them to ensure a successful event and a happy client.
- Maintain communication with the kitchen, keeping them informed of any time change in food service,
- Gathering food counts from staff, relaying count to chef and assisting with the plating of meals.
- Greet each table and invite them to enjoy the buffet to create a steady and consistent pace of food service
- Monitor buffet to ensure all items are being replenished when necessary.
- Must be able to assist in slicing and plating cake when necessary
- Stay in contact with client throughout the evening, confirming they are satisfied with their food and service
- Monitor staff whereabouts during any downtime of function, give additional duties if necessary, confirm that all tables are being cleared of any unwanted dishware
- Pack up any guests personal items (frames, gifts, decoration, etc) and prepare for guests to take home
- Gather feedback from the clients or guests about their experience at the end of the event
- Confirm the entire staff is working in an efficient manner cleaning and resetting room for the next event.
