Chelin was born in Tampa, Florida and then moved to Mobile, AL when she was very young. Chelin loves to paint, swim, travel and spend time with her family. Chelin joined the firm as one of the Bilingual Intake Specialist. She will be one of the first voices you will hear over the phone. Chelin loves to help the Vietnamese culture.

Eric is a 1992 graduate of Spring Hill College where he was a 4-year starter on the men’s soccer team. In 1994 Eric received his Masters in Counselor Education from the University of South Alabama. Eric joined the firm in 2023 and has quickly become an intricate part of our new client on boarding and collection team. He began working for the Firm as an intake specialist and quickly moved into a key position with the Firm. He is the onboarding specialist for the firm and he assists clients with acclimating to the firm procedures and assists in keeping clients informed, and ensures they have information related to their billing statements in a timely manner. He assists in helping clients schedule necessary meetings with the attorneys, and in answering questions related to court dates, times and changes related to their cases. In his free time, he works as a soccer referee and watches professional soccer, especially Manchester United!

DeAsia is from Northern Alabama and came to Mobile to pursue her education at the University of South Alabama, where she earned her degree in 2022. Her journey with Hernandez & Associates Law Firm began during her undergraduate years when she joined the firm as an intern. After completing her studies, she joined the firm full-time and began working remotely over the past year while residing back home.

Now back in Mobile, DeAsia serves as a dedicated paralegal, mitigation coordinator, and mentor at the Firm. Known for her exceptional organizational skills and professionalism, she is an excellent resource and member of our trial team.

When she is not in the office, DeAsia indulges in her passions for online shopping and cooking.

Meet Colleen Jennings, a valued member of the Equalizing Justice team!

Colleen was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. In May 2024, she graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, accompanied by a minor in Political Science. On the firm’s Capital Mitigation Team, Colleen plays a pivotal role in meticulously gathering, organizing, and analyzing crucial records essential for the mitigation phase of capital cases. Her dedication to detail ensures that all pertinent information, from medical histories to socio-economic backgrounds, is accurately compiled to support legal strategies. Colleen also assists attorneys with paralegal duties. Outside the office, Colleen enjoys reading fantasy books, playing video games, traveling, and spending quality time with her Dalmatian, Pongo.

Hannah Sutherland lives in Axis Alabama. She graduated from Citronelle High School. She has been working in the legal field for a year in a half. She is the firm’s project specialist. She helps with collections, drafting and filing motions, interacts with clients, and big projects behind the scenes. She also serves on the Capital Mitigation and Post-Conviction teams. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
