A little over a year ago, Janelle joined the firm. She has had a great deal of success handling Personal Injury cases during that time. She has a proven track record of getting clients results and tenaciously fighting for justice for our clients. She has been a great addition to the team and I don't know how I survived before her. Please congratulate 🥳 her on her work-versary. If you need an attorney please call us.

Today I would like to take time to celebrate Karina and Janelle for Hispanic Heritage Month. (Yes I'm late, it ends tomorrow.) You can read about both of their awesome Hispanic heritage. One thing is for sure, these two ladies keep this place festive and running. I so appreciate both of you and we celebrate you everyday. 🥳🥳

Blog | The Law Office of Jerry Jenkins, P.A. Far too many times, I have had to tell a client that unfortunately there was no insurance coverage available for us to pursue for their damages. My two cents on the changes proposed for Florida auto insurance.
Yes I support repealing the so called no fault provisions.
Current law only requires individuals to carry $10,000 in personal injury protection( “PIP”). This is used no matter who is at fault and is only for medical expenses.

Assume you were injured, went to the ER for treatment and had follow up care with a provider. Under the current state of the law PIP would pay providers 80% of bills and 60% of lost wages. If the other driver had the minimum insurance, No Bodily injury coverage, then you would most likely not be able to recover any award against them for additional expenses or pain and suffering.

In contrast, under the new law proposal, same scenario as above. All drivers would be required at a minimum to carry bodily injury insurance in the amount of $25,000/$50,000. Meaning insurance for one individual is $25,000 and for 2 or more is $50,000.

There is much debate over which system benefits the consumers most. I would say that we need to update the insurance requirements to come in line with today’s medical care.
I’m not sure this is a final step but it’s a first step in that direction.

As always, we don’t recommend the minimum insurance. We will review auto insurance policies with you for free. We like to make sure you understand what you need before you need it.
