What’s a beauty rule that you totally live by?

Who needs to bleach their hair when you can add highlights with extensions?

🍃sometimes your hair needs a break from being lightened and sometimes you don’t want to take that break 😁

💃🏼 Enter extensions. I usually suggest keeping the color 2 shades lighter and mixing in your natural color in with them. Or you can also make it look like a subtle ombré!

🍂My Client was giving her hair a rest so I just added some face framing highlights to help marry her natural color to her extensions in the front and voila! Highlights without the damage 😉

During winter my guests love to go a little dark but they often like to brighten back up in the spring and doing this frequently can be the worst for your ends. So how do we beat it?

Luckily I have a few fav ways to give my blondies the depth they are craving while allowing them to go back blonde at the end of winter.

So here are some Hot tips

- Don’t go too dark. I love using glosses that fade over time but even going super dark is something you can’t easily bounce back from.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Consider adding in lots of lowlights. They give you depth and contrast without making you look all over dark.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- If you want to go dark only do no more than 2 shades darker. My fave way to do this is by using a translucent gloss that will give you the color you want but it isn’t super opaque so youll still see some of your highlights peeking through and by the end of winter your blonde will be back and ready for brightness!

🌿Apply a scalp oil and massage in with your fingers or better yet, use a gua sha stone. My fav combo is from

🌿Apply a facial oil so you can massage your face and scalp at the same time

🛌 Scalp oils work their magic if they are allowed to stay on for a length of time. The next morning shampoo your hair as usual or incorporate a salt scrub to remove dead skin cells.

If you’re ballin on a budget but don’t want to give up your highlights here’s a great maintenance schedule to help your color go a long way!

✨ First Session - Full Modern Blonding ( this covers your whole head )

💕 6-8 weeks- Gloss refresh. If you love how the color is fading then this appt is optional and you can use tinted deep conditioner at home.

🌟3-5 months Mini Balayage. This just covers a couple foils around the hairline and along your part-line so it looks like you touched up all of your highlights when you really didn’t! 👀 This is a great time to get a trim as well!

🔥1 year- partial modern blonding that just covers the crown of your head or you can go for a Full and do it all again ✌🏼

⚡️ depending on the color you’re starting with it’s often best to take things slow.

👩🏻 If you’re hair is naturally (or unnaturally) dark then sometimes lightening in sessions can be the healthiest option when also paired with trims.

But what you do at home is most important ✨
Lower the heat on your tools, air dry when you can, utilize leave in conditioners, moisture masks and most importantly start using k18 to get your hair strong in preparation for entering the light 💡

These tips tend to be easy to forget so save this post to keep ‘em handy!

✨ Story time ✨ I had a root can a couple years ago and I went to a new dentist. During the whole procedure I had like 5 different techs in my mouth while the dentist came by periodically to work on me. I finally realized he was working on several patients at once. 😳
