It was wonderful to see over 300 alumni and guests for Reunion Weekend 2024. Those attending had the opportunity to be a DJ for their own radio show on KSPB, stay in the dorms on campus, attend the State of School with President Dan Griffiths, learn about plans to update the new math, science, and engineering center, dip their feet in the Pirate Pool, enjoy dinner, music, and visit with one another at the Reunion Reception and Dinner under the tent on Wilson Field, among other activities over the weekend. Today, the 40th Robert U. Ricklefs Scholar Award special assembly took place in the Wandke Amphitheater. Aimรฉe Bates, upper division head, led the assembly and Dale Hinckley, faculty member, spoke about this yearโs impressive recipient, Xinrui (Lily) L. โ25.
Our Schoolโs founder, Mr. Robert U. Ricklefs passed away in 1985 and that year our Stevenson Alumni Association created the Ricklefs Scholar Award in his honor. It is given each year to a member of the Junior Class whose academic achievement and contributions to school life are exemplary, and who manifests in his or her daily life the values Mr. Ricklefs admired most in people: determination, responsibility, loyalty, unselfishness, consideration for others, duty, and courage. It is the highest non-academic honor a member of the Junior Class can receive.
All of the candidates worked hard and did an incredible job this year. Well done Luke B. โ25, Ale De L. โ25, Michelle H. โ25, Lily L. โ25, Wonjin E. โ25, and Victoria D. โ25!
And, a very big congratulations to Xinrui (Lily) L. โ25 for being presented with the 2024 Robert U. Ricklefs Scholar Award!
Our great thanks to this year's Ricklefs Scholar Award alumni committee members, Larry Hunter โ79, Sarah Lee โ96, Judah Padilla Matthews โ98, Terrence Riley โ00, Laura Merfeld '09, and Tori Lecomte โ09 for their time and dedication to this alumni effort.
(L-R: Dr. Dan Griffiths, Luke B. โ25, Ale De L. โ25, Michelle H. โ25, Xinrui (Lily) L. โ25, Wonjin E. โ25, Victoria D. โ25, Dale Hinckley, and Aimรฉe Bates)
