Join UC Center Sacramento on Wednesday, May 29th from 12:00pm - 1:00pm for a talk by the 2024 UCCS "Grow Our Own" Public Lectureship and White Paper Award Winner: Professor Laura Wray-Lake, Dr. Chris Wegemer, Mr. Ryo Sato, Ms. Leslie Ortiz, and Ms. Amy Wong, UCLA, on "From Barriers to Ballots: Identifying and Reducing Voting Barriers for Young People.” Deputy Secretary Jannelle Jackson with the California Secretary of State will now be joining this talk! This talk will focus on the current state of research on structural voting barriers young people face, share findings from a national survey of young voters in the 2020 presidential election and provide evidence-based policy recommendations to promote youth engagement in California’s electoral process.
