October is National Disability Employment Awareness month! The Department of Justice celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities and showcases supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices that benefit employers and employees.

Buffy Wicks just introduced two bills to make workplaces more family-friendly and equitable for family caregivers: , which will prohibit discrimination against workers due to their family caregiving responsibilities, and , which would make CA leave laws more accessible to LGBTQ+ Californians and others who care for extended or “chosen” family—loved ones that do not currently fit the outdated definition of “family” under the Paid Family Leave program.
