I just love the training my dogs received with Karen at . Those of you who visit know that they are still a bit excitable when guests arrive (we're working on that)..but otherwise, on a daily basis we have dogs we can enjoy life with.

Conditioning each command to a low level stimulation on the ecollar. We do not start conditioning the ecollar to each dog until the dog has an understanding physically in space what each command means, as well as verbally. Most dogs working level on the ecollar is less than 12 out of 100, Elroy’s is 3-6 out of 100! Ecollars are used as a tool to communicate with your dog, and or interrupt them. However, before we can even communicate with them, we need to fairly reach each dog, in a very controlled environment, what that tool is and what it means and where it’s coming from. Once that step is achieved, it’s now a way to help the dog! Asta and Aspen have been home a week now from . They are two very active, very sweet, but equally stubborn Wire Hair Fox Terriers. I knew changes were occurring in their ability to control their impulses, pay attention, and do something as simple as come when called when I had my two private lessons with them during their board and train with Karen and Anthony at Up A Level K9 Academy. Getting them home, the change is amazing. No more bolting out of their kennels or at an open door; they sit and wait patiently (mostly, remember the’re Terriers!) for the OK to go; no more pulling at the leash when we go for a walk; instead very nice leash manners making our walks enjoyable; no more tearing through the house like demons and I can ask them to get on their climb (an elevated pet bed) and they’ll stay there for as long as I ask them to – – anything from 20 minutes to a couple of hours. They even learned to walk on the treadmill which will come in really handy this winter during extreme weather – – because these two need a lot of exercise. During their time at Up A Level K9 Academy with Karen and Anthony they learned a language, a language I can use now to communicate with them. And really important thing to me, they were trained with kindness – – videos during training showed me that they respected the training and commands but loved Karen and Anthony (Asta and Aspen also love to offer lots of kisses). You and your dog deserve training like this—life will be better in your household!! And Asta lives to play fetch—he learned to drop the ball at the out command, and to wait for me to throw it—instead of trying to snap my hand off 😊

Amazing how these dogs learn their language (commands) and respond to trainers Karen and Anthony at Up a Level K9 Academy My Aspen and Asta are learning polite behaviors with them now!

The School District of Sevastopol is pleased to announce our 2022 State Report Card. Our district score was the highest in the Door/Kewaunee County areas. Our high school improved by 1.4% over last year’s score. While our middle school rating was Significantly Exceeds Expectations with a score of 93.9. Superintendent Luedtke said, “I am extremely proud of our students and the efforts of our entire staff to be so high achieving.”

Asta traveled to us via air from Kansas. Quite a trip for an 8 week old.

Dang, I lost my Instagram account for Asta and Aspen, so wanted to update you on their year. Here they are a year ago. They are now in training with Up A Level K9, right here in Valmy Door County. They've been with Karen and staff 10 days now and the progress is amazing. Stay tuned for videos showing their training and their adventures out and about as they continue.
