Ingredients:
2 filet mignon steaks
4 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 lemon (zest and juice)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC).
Season the filet mignon steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.
Place the filet mignon steaks in the skillet and sear them for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until they develop a golden brown crust.
Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside on a plate.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the butter. Allow it to melt.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sautรฉ for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Stir in the lemon zest and juice, scraping the bottom of the skillet to incorporate any browned bits.
Return the filet mignon steaks to the skillet, coating them with the garlic lemon sauce.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for about 5-8 minutes, or until your desired level of doneness is reached. Remember to consider the thickness of the steaks for accurate cooking time.
Remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest for a few minutes.
