I’ve been a proud Na Fianna member for the past 3 years. It’s been brilliant to continue playing Camogie here in Abu Dhabi and it makes living abroad that bit easier.
It was definitely the best decision to play with Na Fianna when I moved out. Being able to play Camogie here made it easier to call Abu Dhabi my home away from home!
The social aspect of being part of Na Fianna is a huge support when living away from home & I’m extremely grateful for all the memories over the past 3 years with incredible ladies & coaches. In the words of Celine Dion, “There were moments of gold and there were flashes of light!”

We are sadly losing our very own to the Emerald Isle, here’s what she had to say about her time at Na Fianna 💙💚

Being part of Na Fianna over the past four years has been an incredibly rewarding experience. During my time here, I not only had the opportunity to play football but also to serve on the committee for two years - last year as a club member and this year as Treasurer.

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I really enjoy helping people and organising - even if I do give out along the way!! and Na Fianna was a perfect outlet for this. It was a running joke that I often spent more time in the club cabin on a weekly basis than I did in my own apartment. Another joke is that I know everyone in Abu Dhabi, which speaks to how connected and welcoming the club is.

Some of the highlights of my time with the club include trips to Bahrain, our very own championship rollover and winning Club person and Intermediate player of the year last year.

I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful people I’ve met through the club. It was the absolute best way to get to know people and build lasting friendships. The community at Na Fianna feels like a second home. Meeting members from other clubs was also a great part of the experience.

As I prepare to leave Abu Dhabi, it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a place that has been more than just a sports club for me.
Thank you to everyone who made my time here so special and for the unforgettable memories.
See you back in 🇮🇪

✨Na Fianna Alum Shout-out! ✨

We would just like to congratulate former Na Fianna hurling stalwart Oísín Gately on reaching the Lory Meagher final with his adopted county Longford. Somehow Oísín has found himself as a scoring half forward, which is quite the transformation from his time here as what can only be described as a “traditional” corner back.

Wishing him the best of luck in Croke Park on June 2nd from all here at Abu Dhabi Na Fianna.

It’s hard to believe we have come to the end of our 23/24 season! Last night we held our AGM in and a huge thank you to those who attended.

Looking back on this season it is fair to say we were hugely impacted with the loss of our championship weekend, however, moving forward we want to continue to grow and succeed as a club and are very much looking forward to the 24/25 season.

We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to our outgoing committee who worked tirelessly this year! Unfortunately we are losing a lot of this committee to pastures new and we would like to wish them all the very best of luck on their new adventures 🌎

We would also like to welcome Brian Hogan, our remaining chairperson and the new 24/25 committee. We wish you all the best of luck going forward! We are looking forward to a positive year ahead for the club 💙💚

Na Fianna would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Dubai Celts on the sad passing of Jimmy Walsh. Jimmy is remembered fondly by all at Na Fianna where his athletic, tenacious defending subdued many a forward that came his way. A competitor on the field and a gentleman off the field; Jimmy always made time for a pint and a chat with the opposition after the game.

The club offers its condolences to Jimmy's large cohort of friends from Dubai and across the region as well as his family back in Ireland.
