A trip I was invited to make late last year was a revelation. Saudi Arabia was nothing like what I had experienced 10 years prior - vibrant and exciting with a lot of art being made. Saad Al Howede hosted , and I at his studio and gallery at JAX - we spent a wonderful afternoon making portraits and enjoying his gracious hospitality.

to the early 2000s - late night in atmospheric South Bombay with who had begun killing it on ‘s film soundtracks. My heavy metal soul knew nothing of rap and hip hop except for a little bit of Cypress Hill, Snoop and Tupac - just enough for us to bond over music and for me to discover his love for Tupac. What a great evening that was - thank you Blaaze!

My introduction to ‘s barbecue magic was a few years ago at my sons’ school where he served some of that now legendary, brisket and pastrami. So when called with this assignment- I jumped on it. I spent an amazing couple of hours with him at his home talking food and his passion for growing. We also made some portraits. :)
