This installation has many “the biggest on Earth” tags and it is part of the Vision 2030 development of the Kingdom.

The spherical screen has broken the Guinness World Records and becomes a new city landmark in Saudi Arabia.

© F.J 📸 My .mapping.show 💯At Sharjah Light Festival 2022 ❤The transcendental exquisiteness of the Sharjah Mosque is the focus of a story showing the beauty and harmony of Islamic motifs, unique and timeless underlined with fast digital designs that infuse the show with a contrast of evolution and speed. The stunning Islamic architecture is showcased in Act 1 where a spiral of light, representing the ‘initial vision’, comes together as though through shifting sands. Act 2 showcases the ‘present’ with digital lines, bright colors and calligraphy referring to speed, progress and development while Act 3 utilises simple lines made of light, delineating the platforms of the mosque – an assured, harmonious introduction to the ‘future’.

UNITY experiments with a way that a monument could be initiated by creative players as a remembrance of what we experience together. Through this project in particular, we would like to shed light to how Covid-19 has underlined the conditions of being isolated, seperated, and segregated from one another. It also questions, what does it mean to be part of a creative community and work together during these strange times? Moreover, how does the power of the internet and the digital contribute to it?

Designers, artists and musicians participating in UNITY reveal their personal feelings, comments, and visions in response to the transformation that they face on a personal and social level. As a result is a selection of 20 audiovisual and silent videos from creatives across the world, including Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Penang, Seremban, Jakarta, Bali, Casablanca, London, Berlin, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris and Tokyo. All works were projected one after another onto a physical structure, resulting into a 20min installation piece that we documented for you to view from home.
