This week, I received a call from one of my students who was studying @ Bachelor's Degree in 2006 (almost 18 Years Back). He started the conversation with - "Ameya Sir remember, you had shared a story in our class emphasizing on 'Appreciating Imperfection'. I shared the same with my son today and he said he loved the story - Thank you so much." He had not even shared his name by then however it was a moment of realization for me that - Meaningful Stories could Impact so many Lives and as a Teacher / Trainer / Facilitator / Coach, we have huge responsibility to Create Right Memories for our students / Participants.

The Amazingly Amazing Moment of Choosing 'Teaching' as a 'Career' (because of my Mother's suggestion) was a little more than 19 years ago. God has been extremely kind to gift me my 'Ikigai'. (AHA moment)

Teaching makes you Build Lifelong Relationships over Generations. It is such a Blissful Feeling of Being !!

Teaching / Training / Coaching is such an Ecstatic Profession; it is one of the Most Wonderful Professions ever because one gets to meet, share, learn and grow along with the participants / students / Coachees.

Grateful to Universe, Grateful to Life, Grateful to my Parents, Grateful to my Teachers, Grateful to Each person who met me in the Learning Space and Most Importantly so Grateful to Each of my Students who are such an incredible part of my Life.

Last week, one of the participants (Reem Youssef - Director of Nursing - HealthBay Clinics ) attended my session along with her Son (Most Adorable Baby Son). He was there throughout the session (4 Hours) he was so well behaved and believe me he was looking and smiling as if he was understanding every word. It was a Blessing to have him in the classroom - We all Felt so Lively!! As a Trainer / Coach - Every day, I get to witness something Uniquely Unique and the only feeling one has is - Being Grateful!!

Travelling with mom (Day 4) (sorry for posting it late :( )

My 3 key Reminders (which i experienced) during the journey with my mom on day 4 were

1. Act of kindness needs to be applauded. The person who is kind needs to be acknowledged.
2. Someone's food can be Someone's poison.
3. Sign of a Matured mind is not to agree but still appreciate.

On 4th day, we started our Super Amazingly Amazing day with a visit to a scenic Waterfall. It was so wonderful to be a part of the natural ecosystem away from any kind of artificial things and emotions. Post that we visited a 'Dargah'. It was a truly calming spiritual experience.

Then we met our Angel once again 'SNOW'. This time, it was in Gulmarg. Where we saw, we could only see Snow. Snow on mountains, Snow on Ground, Snow on trees, Snow on Houses.... there was so Snow everywhere. Along with My Mother, I enjoyed the view and feel of snow once again.

If you are a fan of bollywood, you would know a song - Jai Jai SHIV Shankar.. I am mentioning the song because we visited 'Rani Temple' ; where this song was shot. It is a unique and pictorial temple.

Travelling with mom (Day 3)
(Don't Miss the Food for Thought questions at the end of the Post, especially the 3rd one - it is about 3 meals)

My 4 key Reminders ( which i experienced) during the journey with my mom on day 3 were

1. Forgiveness is easy, if one wants to make it easy.
2. One needs to know that, many timess there is Huge difference in RIGHT and CORRECT.
3. Everything that smells like a Saffron isn't Saffron.
4. Miracles happen everyday - Let's plan one today.

On 3rd day, we had an education session @ Purity and Health Benefits of Saffron in Saffron and Mustard Field leading to of course awesome shopping. Did you know there are different concepts of temple based on the structure ? We visited a 'Panchayatana Temple' - Intriguing Story.

We had the pleasure of visiting Apple Field. However, this is not the apple season, so we enjoyed the fresh apple juice made from the apples from Cold Store :).

Then we witnessed the Bestest* moment together - At Pehalgam / Chandanwadi we met the Angel (we came to see him the way) - 'SNOW'. However we were so blessed not only to see Snow but also experience the Snow Fall... the Snowflakes were as soft as cotton candy.. it was mesmerising to see everyone just living the moment of Truth just because of the Angel 'Snow'.

Truly Life is Amazingly Amazing and we only have two options:

1. To be Happy or
2. To be Happy

Food for thought

1. When was the last time you surprised your mother / parents with something which they never ever expected or experienced? (something wow.. super Amazingly Amazing)

2. Do you know the names of your great-grandfather and great-grandmother? (we are this world because of them)

3. When was the last time you had all 3 meals for 3 consecutive days with your mother / parents?

My 3 key Reminders (which I experienced) during the journey with my mom on day 2 were:
 
1. Love is absolutely unconditional. It doesn't matter who is Right; what matters is how do you care for someone else's happiness and joy.
2. Having the wisdom of knowing when to stop and when to accelerate emotions during life / travel is so important.
3. Everyone loves appreciation. (Just that some need more and some need a lot more :)) 
4. Sometimes, no reaction is a great and most appropriate reaction. 
5. Contextual use of knowledge is wisdom. 
 
On 2nd day, we cherished Shikara for hours. The mesmerising experience of being surrounded by mountains, water and sheer beauty of nature was an Amazingly Amazing Blissful experience. We had the privilege of buying Tulips from the floating market. 
 
We also visited a few places which checked our physical strengths as we had to climb almost 8+ kilometres. We witnessed the unbelievable beauty of Tulip Gardens. 
 
Food for thought

2. What's the dream or was the ultimate dream of your mother / parents?
 
3. Which destination does your mother / parents want to travel?
 
4. From your childhood, what is the most memorable moment / incidence your mother/ parents about you?
 
5. What is that one memorable moment you particularly still remember from your childhood in which your mother / parents had contributed immensely? (have you ever told them about that...)

Travelling with Mom (Day 1)

My father used to work at a nationalized bank. I remember, when I was in school, every 2 years my father was used to get the travelling allowance and as a Family - 4 of travelled to many states within India and our final tour together was to the 1st Foreign Country - Nepal (I was 15 years old and now I am 40+) Travelling together was one of the most exciting experiences as a family we shared. There are so many memorable memories I have of travelling with my parents and my sister.

Eventually, after school, we couldn't travel together as a family for leisure as we all had our own priorities and limitations. We did travel to meet friends, to attend wedding or other family gatherings however it was never the way it was before just for leisure and to explore new cities.

Today, I am 40+ years old, and my mother is 70+ years young. She has extensively travelled in Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world with her friends. I have been a solo traveller for years and travelled to many countries. We have always enjoyed sharing our travel stories with each other. However, last month, we decided to travel together to relive our own memories @ Travel and to rejoice each other’s company.

And the destination which was of course decided by her was - Kashmir and Vaishavdevi !!

On 3rd April, we reached Kashmir a bit late in the evening and An Amazingly Amazingly Journey.

My 3 key Reminders (which I experienced) during the journey with my mom on day 1 were:

1. One of us was a parent a few years ago, and now the other one needs to step up to be a responsible, patient, and nurturing parent.
2. You can replace everything in life, but you can't replace the knowledge and experience.
3. How to enjoy the smallest possibles joys with innocence and live in the moment.
4. Enthusiasm and Energy has nothing to do with the age. It is just the way one decides to live.

Below are few questions - Just Food for Thought

1. When was the last time you travelled with your parents just for leisure?
2. Do you know how many parents have around their eyes?
3. Are we aware how they walk, and do they need some physical or emotional support to walk more confidently?

Alert - This Post will Impact Your Public Speaking Skills Positively!!

In psychology, the 'Zeigarnik effect', named after Lithuanian-Soviet psychologist Bluma Zeigarnik, occurs when an activity that has been interrupted may be more readily recalled.

The Zeigarnik Effect in relation to public speaking refers to the tendency for audiences to remember and pay more attention to a speech that ends abruptly or leaves a question unanswered. This effect can be harnessed by corporate professionals to create more engaging and memorable presentations.

For example, if a speaker concludes a presentation with a thought-provoking question or a teaser for what's to come in the future, the audience is more likely to retain that information and remain interested in the topic. This can be particularly effective in business pitches, conference speeches, or training sessions where you want the audience to remember key points.

Understanding the Zeigarnik Effect can help corporate professionals structure their presentations effectively, ensuring that they leave a lasting impact on the audience. By incorporating elements that create curiosity or suspense, speakers can leverage this psychological phenomenon to engage their listeners and make their message more memorable in the corporate world.

The Von Restorff effect, also known as the "isolation effect", predicts that when multiple homogeneous stimuli are presented, the stimulus that differs from the rest is more likely to be remembered. The theory was coined by German psychiatrist and pediatrician Hedwig von Restorff (1906–1962), who, in her 1933 study, found that when participants were presented with a list of categorically similar items with one distinctive, isolated item on the list, memory for the item was improved.

For example, if a person examines a shopping list with one item highlighted in bright green, he or she will be more likely to remember the highlighted item than any of the others. Additionally, in the following list of words – desk, chair, bed, table, chipmunk, dresser, stool, couch – "chipmunk" will be remembered the most as it stands out against the other words in its meaning.

Suggestion for the Effective Presentation:

Introduce unexpected elements such as unique visuals, props, or demonstrations throughout your speech to create moments of cognitive stimulation that increase attention and retention of your key messages.

Von Restorff effect is the proven psychological theory that the more something stands out from the crowd the more likely it is to be seen.

For example, in a bucket full of green apples we'll remember the red one.
