In the ancient winemaking landscape of Armenia, "Karas" means "amphora," a sacred clay vessel steeped in 6,000 years of tradition. 🏺🍇

Eduardo Ernekian and Juliana Del Aguila Ernekian, uncle and niece, known for their premium vineyards at Bodega Del Fin Del Mundo in Argentina, co-founded Karas Wines in Armenia's Armavir region. This region, blessed with a volcanic terroir, sets the stage for Karas Winery's unique approach.

As pioneers in Armenia, Karas Winery adopted new and modern winemaking techniques. Their dedication extends beyond the craft; Karas is a tribute to Armenia, its people, history, and culture. Focused on the Armavir region's potential, they believe in creating high-quality wines at their origin, reflecting the essence of this historical land.

Pet Nat by Tushpa Wine Cellar 🍇
Pet Nat is a type of sparkling wine crafted through the so-called ancestral method without the addition of secondary yeasts or sugars.

Fermentation finishes in the bottle, resulting in a naturally fizzy and often slightly cloudy beverage. It is normal for Pet Nat to have sediment. The sediment is a byproduct of the in-bottle fermentation process.

Pen Nat completes vinification in the bottle without becoming highly pressurized, making it safe to use a crown cap without the risk of explosion.

Pen Nat is best served like any other sparkling wine- cold.

Pen Nat can’t be aged. It can last a year or two if stored properly.

✨APPASSIMENTO~ is an ancient winemaking technique where the best grapes are dried on racks or crates for 90 to 120 days, concentrating sugars, aromas, and polyphenols. This method dates back 3000 years, commonly used in the Mediterranean. 🍇

Modern Amarone uses fruttaio (drying lodges) for well-ventilated drying. Grapes like Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseleta are commonly used.

Amarones are full-flavored, high-alcohol wines with 🍒cherry, plum, raisin, fig, 💨smoke, 🌰nut, 🍫chocolate, and 🍂earthy notes. They are velvety, rich, and have firm, round tannins.

🇬🇧🥂Traditionally, England was known more for consuming wine rather than producing it, with limited production often subject to criticism. However, in recent years, England has undergone a remarkable transformation in the world of wine. It has emerged as an exciting new player, particularly renowned for its high-quality sparkling wines.

English sparkling wines have garnered global recognition, triumphing over major Champagne houses in competitions and earning prestigious awards. Sparkling wine production accounts for over 65% of the total English wine production, with still wines also being produced. The key regions to note are Sussex, Kent, and Surrey, where vineyards primarily cultivate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Bacchus, and Ortega grape varieties.

What is Sherry?🍷🇪🇸

Sherry is a fortified wine produced in the "sherry triangle" of Andalucia, Spain. It is made using Palomino grapes for dry styles and Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel grapes for sweeter styles.

Dry sherries like Fino and Manzanilla undergo biological aging under a layer of yeast called flor.

Sweet sherries, such as Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel, are made from dried grapes and undergo oxidative aging. Blends and creams, sweet styles of sherry, are created by blending dry sherries with their own solera system.

🍷🏰 The Vazisubani estate, established in the late 19th century, was the passion project of Tavadi Sulkhan Chavchavadze, a young aristocrat. Alongside his contributions to Kakheti, including education and charitable endeavors, his primary focus was viticulture and winemaking.

The estate featured 20 hectares of vineyards, producing up to 18,000 liters of wine aged in 30 qvevris.

🏺 Sulkhan Chavchavadze's palace, wine cellar, and estate, built on his grandfather's property, showcase the family's refined taste, diligent work ethic, and dedication to winemaking.

🏛️🍇 The architectural beauty of the 19th-century Georgian design still shines through despite a complex history.
