Pipetting technique and maintenance workshop.

On the 5th of December we had a pipetting technique and maintenance workshop presented by Gabriel Odoño.

In October, Gabriel attended a Pipette Quality Management Certification course by ARTEL in Scarborough, Maine where he obtained certification for pipetting proficiency, calibration, maintenance, and repair.

Attendees were medical technicians from various departments in St. Maarten Laboratory Services N.V. such as the Environmental lab, Microbiology lab, Media preparation, Clinical chemistry, Hematology, and the Special chemistry department.

Another successful CE-session!

Today we were treated and refreshed with a lot of new information.

The CE-session with the topic “The role of CD4 and HIV viral load for the treatment of HIV-positive patients” was held at the Health Care Laboratory, Sint Maarten.

Dr. Radjin Steingrover presented the technical side (the preparation of samples, testing and test principles). Dr. Gerard Van Osch is the professional responsible for treating HIV patients on St. Maarten and he continued with the treatment, study cases and laboratory result interpretations.

To close off the session we had cupcakes and refreshments.
