Trivia? Fix! "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" was released in 1979 as part of Pat Benatar's second album, "Crimes of Passion". It quickly became one of her most famous songs. The song was a huge commercial success, reaching No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming Benatar's first Top 10 hit. Although famously associated with Pat Benatar, the song was actually written by Eddie Schwartz, a Canadian songwriter. The song's music video was one of the early examples of artist promotion on MTV, helping to popularize both the song and Benatar herself in the early 1980s. Whoop!

»Composed of the last two EPs „J_LLY“ & „G__D“ and yet plenty of new material the LP culmination marks a worthy end point to this release cycle.

Musically, le_mol feature some truly catchy lead vocals by legendary Hans Platzgumer (‚prds recomposition‘) and embark on more electronic avenues (‚Fun With Teeth', 'Me? Lol‘) while maintaining the trademark melancholy loop-based instrumental rock sound (‚Damn You! Grown Up World‘, ‚Welcome To The Bubble‘) they are known for.

Artistically, via a juxtaposition of odd song titles and nostalgic-analogue photographs from Vienna’s funpark „Wurstelprater“ with the thoughtful post-rock music they are known for, le_mol try to express their perception of the zeitgeist.

As kids of the 90s and the wealth, peace and MTV that comes with that decade „J_LLY G__D _iME_“ is le_mol’s reflection on being thirtysomethings in a world where the European stability of yesterday seems to disintegrate with every passing week and existential crisis lurks around every corner. Sounds like a bit too much? Thankfully, the band thinks so itself and can’t stop themselves from a smidge of mirth and irony throughout the album.

All of this without any real lyrics other than a feeble AI bot that can’t even properly speak English?

Yes, that’s what instrumental music does to your head. Luckily. Welcome to the ride!«

»This song represents a long and exciting journey for us. It was the first song we wrote after album #1, during the lockdown that stopped us from touring right after the release, but since then it has taken on a life of its own. First, the wonderful Gerhard Potuznik (.happy.sun) was kind enough to sprinkle some magic synth dust all over it. Then we had the enormous honour of having the sound smashed up and beautifully reassembled by super-producer phenomenon . The awesome mix was created by the hyper-talented .lueger in conjunction with our sonic guiding star .vatagin, who also recorded and produced, set up ALL these amazing connections, and *took the whole thing with him to NEW JERSEY* to get it mastered by the legendary ! Finally, our favourite artist, the lovely ._thaler created the stunning cover artwork.

It's been a real team effort, and a huge privilege to collaborate with so many great people. The good news is that most of them have also been involved in the rest of the album. Thank you to all!«
