When can my child start preschool? 🎒

We have a super handy tool to help you work out when your child can start preschool.

At a glance, it’s time to enrol now for preschool if your child:
➡️ turns 4 after 31 October this year
➡️ turns 4 before 1 May 2024.

Aboriginal children and children in care can access preschool from 3 years of age.

At preschool your child is building important social, emotional and thinking skills through play to help them thrive.

Art Gallery of South Australia
Yesterday the Art Gallery visited us for an incursion. We explored different art techniques like paper tearing, fine drawing, rubbing and still life art using nature. Thank you to our visitors for showing us how we can express our ideas in many ways.

We have been learning about emergencies at kindergarten this term and last week we visited the Beulah Park Fire Station and today they visited us. Thank you to the SA Metropolitan Fire Service for teaching the children about fire safety, answering our questions and letting us have a go with the hose. We appreciate everything you do for our community. 🚒 🚨🧑🏼‍🚒👨‍🚒

We’ve been busy growing seedlings and transferring them to our vertical garden that hangs on our fence in Regent Park outside of kindy. Do you visit sometimes? Please take what you need and leave what you don’t for others. (Instead of taking the whole tub, please take cuttings so we can continue to add more produce to share)

"My baby is too young for playgroup"... 👶we hear this quite often.
Here are some reasons why you SHOULD join a playgroup with your baby:
• Play is the way your baby learns. You can support your baby's development by giving opportunities for them to interact, observe and do things.
• Babies learn from socialising and watching other babies and children
• Babies can learn to relate to other adults and carers, in a safe and friendly environment with their caregiver.
• Babies enjoy being with other babies and children
• Babies are able to explore and enjoy new experiences
• Parents with new babies often require support in the early months and a friendly person to chat with who may be going through similar experiences
• Babies explore the world around them through their senses.

Look who has arrived at kindy for the week!
The excited questions from the children were flowing “if it’s brown when it hatches, then does it turn yellow?” “Can chickens fly?” “yes, but not a long way”
