Yesterday’s Children’s Week in the West community event at Alberton was filled with colour and fun!   Plenty of parents, caregivers and kids came along to try out messy play, a drumming circle, footy with Port Adelaide Football Club and lots of crafty activities. With no option but to live in cramped emergency motel accommodation for six months, she struggled to put food on the table and was kept up at night by loud motel guests. Thank you to everyone who attended our NAIDOC Community Day last Friday. It was wonderful to see so many community members come together and experience @unclemoogysumner’s Welcome to Country, learn about native creatures with @animalsanonymous__ and taste the delicious catering from @australiannativefoodco. Our CEO and Managers even learnt some traditional dances with Major Moogy’s crew! From little things, big things grow. 🌱 Our garden gift stall at Westminster Aged Care was a huge success, raising over $1,700 to upgrade our resident outdoor spaces. "My heart is full. Santa’s little helpers from @sa_powernetworks Employee Foundation visited Port Adelaide this morning to make our Toy Room sparkle. ✨🎄   Over the coming weeks, this space will see over 400 people through its doors. Parents and caregivers doing it tough can select gifts and stocking fillers for children who may have otherwise gone without at Christmas. They can also access basic food and essential items to help them through the festive season.   We still need your help to fill our shelves with gifts for teenagers! As the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) finally passes through the Senate today, UnitingSA currently has more than 50 properties under construction across three sites with more on the way! Just this week two dilapidated homes in Northfield have come down to make way for six contemporary, open plan, social and affordable homes.
