In an age where looking the best is most marketable, not too big or too little, needing to be conventionally attractive to be valued, the image in the mirror not matching what’s in your brain, really f***s with how much you want to show yourself to the world. During COVID, it’s been easier to judge myself, especially when people verbalise my worst fears about myself to hurt me. I deserve to love the way I look, but that is a thousand times easier said than done with all the pressures of society saying otherwise. I held off on posting anything because I didn’t want anyone to notice the changes in my body, so I’m in charge of the perspective now.
