ONE WEEK LEFT FOR BJM NOMINATIONS

This time next week nominations will close for the upcoming Karratha Machinery Hire and Trufleet Brett Johnson Memorial at Karratha's Nickol Bay Speedway.

Currently with a week to go, we are at 41 nominations, just four away from the record 45 in 2019.

Will we break the record this season??

Nomination fee is $50, which includes the following:
- Nomination fee
- Entry for driver and 2 pit crew for both nights

Transponder hire is $30 for the event and will also need to be paid prior to the event.
Nominations close 5pm Monday the 26th of June 2023. All nominations made after the cut off date void tow money and will start ROF.

Sorry fans, I’ve been a little absent. I’ve had some crazy s% #* going on lately in life.

Good old Covid finally got me. 😷🤒
And life swung a 360.
But we are back on track.

As the rumours fly, yes! I met with the concrete wall in my stockie run at Nickol Bay!
That’s racing, these things happen.
I was worn out, tired, sick and probably shouldn’t have raced. But I pushed myself to get out there.
It is what it is. We’ve all been there. 🤭

We will fix it & be back racing very shortly ✌🏼.
( PS, if anyone wants to give me a hand on the reshell that would be sweet 🤣😬🤦🏼‍♀️)

Hopefully after the BJM we can smash into it and get it back out there. 🤘🏼👏🏼.

Soooo, I changed things up!

Life has taken a mad twist and I’m off relocating for an epic career opportunity 🤘🏼✌🏼.

Which will unfortunately see me step away from the Super Sedan racing. I am absolutely stoked to have had an incredible season and end on a high note in the WA #3 machine. A huge thank you to my sponsors & supporters. 🖤

I made the mad decision to buy a Street Stock and join the real race cars 😜.

I will be branching out entirely on my own. A little to go before I’ll be ready to hit the track. We need to get the car to Karratha, eventually get a trailer and gather up some tools etc 🤦🏼‍♀️.

But , Challenge Mode is engaged. 👊🏼

There will be plenty of room for any sponsors who might be interested in coming on board.

We missed two points rounds throughout the season and managed to still hang in the Top 10.

THREE IN A ROW FOR HIGGS!

Dustin Higgs has romped to his third consecutive Big Bad Bert Memorial victory in dominant fashion at Atwell Park Speedway in Albany.

Entering the second night of competition third in the points standings, Higgs would secure a win and a second in his heat races to secure pole position for the twenty five lap main event.

Phil Barton, Ajay Hammer, and Rob Knox would also greet the chequers first in heat race action on night two to lock in strong starting positions for the A Main.

Dustin opted to start from the outside and would be joined on the front row by his Dad Dusty Higgs.

The Higgs boys headed into turn one side by side. Hammer came unstuck into turn one and would bring out the first caution light of the race.

At the second attempt of the start Knox and Barton made contact sending Barton into the wall and out of the race on the opening lap.

The third time was the charm and the race was finally off to a clean start.

Dustin on the top side of the track railed around the outside and into the lead. Dusty wouldn’t give up, and pulled alongside his son lap after lap, but couldn’t quite clear Dustin each time.

Dustin would finally break the shackles and storm off into the lead, building a big margin over the rest of the field.

Knox was able to close the gap to Dusty for second, and would take the position when a lap car halted the momentum of Dusty on the inside, allowing Knox to sail around the outside out of turn two into second place.

Meanwhile up front Dustin was absolutely flawless in lap traffic and went on to greet the chequered flag a full six seconds clear of his nearest competitor.

Knox would cross the line second well clear of the battle for third, which Tristan Green would claim on the final lap of the race.

Dusty would cross the line in fourth just clear of of Brent Vosbergen who rounded out the top five.

After a slow start the A Main went twenty five laps green to chequer in what was a great display for the fans in attendance, and the perfect way to honour the late great Bert Vosbergen!

I’m still absolutely buzzing.
What an event!

After practice I was really happy with the car and it’s set up. I was confident but had hoped for some quicker times.
I reset the mind frame come Saturday and focused on a few little key things in the car.

Heat 1 - 6th
Heat 2 - 2nd
Heat 3 - 1st ( on the last corner of the last lap across the line 🤭)

A Main
Started 7th
Finished WA #3

Almost cracked WA2 but a restart on the last lap caused us to go back a lap and back to 3rd which we just couldn’t make the pass again.
Conserving tyres and playing it smarts was the A main goal. We quietly snuck our way up and fought to the end.
Hands down my best drive to date! 👏🏼👊🏼

The car was on song all weekend.
