April is Autism Awareness Month! Autism Awareness Month is about raising awareness, acceptance and inclusion of autism.
Did you know that more than 205,000 Australians have autism and 1 in 4 Australians have a family member on the autism spectrum?
At Discover Speech Pathology, we work with children on the autism spectrum to improve their quality of life through better communication skills to build stronger relationships with those around them.
We love working with families and being able to celebrate the strengths, achievements and uniqueness of children with autism!
New year, new spaces! We are accepting new clients! 🎉 We currently have both ongoing intervention sessions and assessment sessions available. Contact us via the link in our bio for more information or to book your child in. We cant wait to meet you! 😊

Lots of smiles today playing with our new felt zoo while we practice speech sounds 🐒🦁🐘
Speech therapy should be a fun and positive experience with educational and engaging activities. Motivation is a major factor in children achieving improvements in their skills. That is why we love games so much at Discover Speech Pathology 😊
We have assessment sessions available on Friday the 24th of November. Email us today at [email protected].
We hope everyone is having a beautiful Friday! ☀️
Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing Dads out there! 💙

Does your child need a speech pathology assessment? We have a spot available for an assessment on Friday the 4th of August at 9am!
We can provide assessments for children for:
- Speech sounds and oral motor functioning
- Receptive and expressive language
- Pragmatic language (and social skills)
- Literacy and phonological processing
Send us an email at [email protected] to book in with us!
Here are some of the ways we love to keep our kids motivated when practicing their speech sounds at home! 🎊
1. Popping Sensory Toys - Kids absolutely love these! Get your child to say one target sound or word per pop. It’s that easy! 🎉
2. Pop Up Games like ‘Pop Up Pirate’ or ‘Pop the Pig’ - The anticipation of the pop makes these games super engaging for little ones! Have your child say one target sound per turn of the game. Make sure you model the target sound or word on your turn too! 🐷
3. Barrel of Monkeys - Modify this simple game to use in speech practice. If your child doesn’t like the pressure of a timer, take turns collecting one monkey each turn using the tail of another monkey. Have your child say their target sound or word before each turn 🐵
4. Spot It - Another quick and easy game to use by having your child say their sound or word before each new pair of cards is set down. You can also get children to say the matching image aloud and make sure any target sounds are produced correctly! For example, if their target sound is ‘s’ and they see matching suns, make sure they produce a good ‘s’ when they say ‘suns’☀️
5. Find with a Flashlight - This a great activity to use with speech practice cards. Hide the cards around a room, close the blinds and let your child search for their cards with a flashlight. Prompt your child to say each word on the card as they find them. Swap turns and let your child hide the cards for you to find, but make sure your child helps you say each word on your turn! 🔦
6. Noughts & Crosses - Such a simple game but very effective at keeping kids engaged. You can play lots of games in a small amount of time. Get your child to produce their sound or target words each time they mark a box. Make sure they have the opportunity to win some games (but not all games, as children need to learn how to cope with not winning every time!) 👍
HAPPY PLAYING!!! 🥳

Exciting news!!! 🙌
We have been given an opportunity to move into a clinic space in central Albury. We will be moving into this space in October, and all sessions will be held in this space from the 14th of October this year.
Until then, we will still be visiting families and their children at home and at school!
This move will allow us to support more families and their children, rather than spending large amounts of time travelling!
Our available days will remain as Fridays and Saturdays. By making Saturdays available for sessions, we are hoping that we can still cater for families who have work commitments on week days.
More details about the new clinic space will be shared closer to our moving date!!! ☺️
July and August are full! We are now currently taking initial appointments for September. Submit an appointment request on our website or email is for more information!
See our website link and email in our bio ☺️
