We are proud to announce tickets are now available to our fundraiser concert that is coming up on 25th Feb.

What a great joy it was for Allan and I to meet Paul and Noi from Northwest Community Group Inc., in person. They visited to say hi and I'm pleased to say Noi took home a few herbs to cook with. Yum!!

Well, we had a great weekend of meeting new friends as we cleared some of extra seedlings as well as cuttings and seeds.

Thank you every so much to all that attended and that gave generously to the NCGI donation tub. We are pleased to advise that we collected from your generous donations $71.40 that will be banked into the NCGI bank account for use as they see fit.

Hi our lovely community!

As the rain seems to have passed for now. It’s allowing us to open our compact but prolific garden this coming weekend.

We are offering you seedlings, from our Malabar Spinach, as well as cuttings from many other Herbs and Edible Plants, and many types of seeds from my own collection for you to head home to plant out.

To list a few of the edibles:

• Perennial Basil
• Snake/Long Beans
• Wild Rocket
• Sage
• Chinese Celery

Normally, this is all done at no cost to you. This time around, we still are not asking for anything for ourselves. We will be asking you for a Gold Coin or whatever suits you, no one will be looking 😊, as the container is yellow.

The funds raised will go directly to what we believe is one of the best grass roots charities helping the homeless - Northwest Community Group Inc., Paul Slater.

As the seedlings and cuttings will be coming directly from the soil in our garden. It is VERY IMPORTANT, please, to bring with you a bucket or container of sorts to take your edibles home in.

How is everyone, post Christmas and Boxing Day?

Well I hope you are doing well. Did you do the Boxing Day sales? Hope you grabbed a bargain. 😁

I wanted to thank all those that came to last Saturday’s Open Door Market. It was a fantastic and happy day of meeting new friends and catching up (briefly as it was) with current friends and loved ones 🤩.

This post is also as a request to a few ladies that asked and offered during the rush of the day. Sadly, I did not take your details. So I thought I’d ask here. 🙋‍♀️🙏

#. A lady asked about ‘Citrus Powder’ only availability. If you could message me please I can ask what quantity you would like ready for my next big grind up.

#. The next…There were the ladies, about 3 I think, that offered me access to their Lemon Myrtle trees. I would then dehydrate them to make the beautiful and delicious Lemon Myrtle Powder. Ladies, as mentioned, I’d love to exchange some of my goods for the leaves or some of the powder once done. Please message me, as time allows, to arrange a time suitable.

> Snake Beans - I’d also be happy to share some seeds. Now is the PERFECT time to plant these (needs a trellis).
> Wild Rocket seeds. Not like the European variety. Smaller leave and doesn’t bolt. Grows amazingly easy from seeds. Almost by default 🤣

All of these are summer loving food plants that grow well in our SE Qld heat. Beats shopping for your spinach in the supermarket. Tastes so fresh.

You can taste test all of them if you are not sure about any of these, as you may not have grown them previously.

Please msg me to arrange a time (that you can achieve and stick to please) to collect. It can be today or during this coming week. But it must be soon, as these seedlings are taking over the garden and they must go. 😳🤣

Bring your own container as it will come directly out of my garden to yours, via your container.

APPRECIATION
You know those times when you meet someone and you just know that whatever they are a part of that it will be good?

Tonight as I did a quick check in on Facebook I saw a post that said they would not only supply us with a meal of Paella, a salad, bread and a dessert, all at a very reasonable price, BUT that they would deliver it as well. Well I’m in!!

And then a few hours later, as arranged, and in the rain, our dinner was delivered by the bright and smiling Eleisha.

We had ordered the most wonderful Spanish Paella, Spanish bun with cheese in the centre, a Romaine Lettuce Salad and a brilliant lemony desert. Don’t you just love it when I talk so generally and not calling this beautiful food by it correct name.. LOL 😂

Please support this young couple in their new endeavour. I just know you will not be disappointed.

What else would you want to do on a cold and rainy first day of summer you may ask?

Pick the freshest of herbs from the garden in the rain - right! 🙋‍♀️Well of course😃.

Picked today we have Oregano, 2 types of Basil, Mint, Basil-Mint, Lemon Thyme and Garden Thyme, Sage, and Rosemary.

These lovelies are all off to the dehydrator to slowly dry to keep all the flavour in. These will then be made into my Italian, Poultry and Greek Herb Blends. Also, the Mint and Basil-Mint and some of the Thyme’s will be included in the Gin Botanical Infusions packs on order or for stock. Plus, other goodies.

Stay dry and don’t forget the range of yummy products we have on offer as that perfect gift for a loved one who is always a challenge to buy for.

Perhaps Citrus Slices for their Gin and Tonic. Marmalades (3 types to choose from) for the morning toast or over that pork to roast or the Christmas ham to bake. I could go on but must away as the herbs need to be washed and sent off to the dehydrators.
