Painted this one a while back as a commission. I’ve umm’d and arr’d about whether I should post it today, but maybe it is right, and more poignant to post it today more than any other.

Surely it makes sense to change the date. Move forward and stop all the click bait divisiveness that fills our daily lives. I love the spirit and idea of an Australia Day celebration, but surely the whole point is it should be accesible for all Australians.

As a migrant to this country, and a proud Australian, I can’t imagine anything that could be more beneficial to the country as a whole than to find a day that the ENTIRE population can celebrate TOGETHER, it would bind us and help us to be more mindful of each other - this would make us stronger, together.

My pledge to myself for this year is to learn more about local Aboriginal history and culture. Not because I’m “woke” but because it’s the right thing to do, and because respect for all (and for the land we live on) is a quality I want to pass down to my kids, and future generations.

Sadly I only discovered Anthony Bourdain after he passed in 2018 - and boy has be had a profound effect on me since. All of his works are fantastic, but the Parts Unknown show is just so incredible and inspiring.

A beautifully complicated dude who preached and exemplified being adventurous, inquisitive and compassionate - he inspired generations to travel and see us all as a single species, of awesome and varied people.

Waiting on someone to get back to be in regards to buying the original, but DM me if interested and I can maybe set up a wait list.

PAINTING AND PRINTS IN STORE.

I painted my big bestie .apollo.show - the big fella and his partner .luxx are creatives of a very different kind and I couldn’t be more proud of them.

In an industry full of bad stories - these guys operate with absolute professionalism, consistency and the highest morals - and have created a life and lifestyle that is perfectly suited them. Something that all creatives yearn for.

Side note. Never thought I’d end up painting SpongeBob over my mates bits and pieces haha.

Thank you for following along in 2022. Here’s a smorgasbord of some of the wild and weird stuff I’ve painted this year.

So much more to come, I really feel like I’m only just starting to hit my straps.

Almost forgot to post a finished pic of this commission. Was an in joke commissioned by a bunch of mates for the fella in the painting (who’s identity needs to be secret for his job).

I really loved painting the colours from the Outback, beautiful oranges and reds in the soil.

A rare childless night out 🥰, so many rad things to do down on the river.

A little slideshow of some recent pieces. Have some commissions I’m finishing off at the moment - also going to punch out an Aussie themed piece this week.

Quick sketch from this weekend of absolute LEGEND - just ran almost 4000km from Perth to Sydney in 46 days. So far has raised over $1.3 million for the homeless.

Will def be lining up a painting of him soon, what a deadset Aussie legend.
