Quiet maximalism: a slice of home.
There’s a tv in this space but I like that it’s not a dominant feature. Too many other preloved, collected treasures to draw the eye! Fresh greenery is also a fave at our place and art of course…
Two of my neutral landscapes up lit here.
As a counterpoint, a bit of whimsy comes by disco ball! 🪩
Not totally in disguise - 🥸- but my art is! Here I am holding my donations for this year. Swipe to see last year’s ➡️

My spirit animal! 🐕 One for the many doggie lovers out there
I’m not sure who this guy is- I snapped this pic yesterday as he galloped at pace toward me!
But he embodies all the feelings I have being by the beach. Dogs simply fill my heart with joy; it’s been a lifelong long love.
And they are such a good reminder to try to live in the moment! 🌊
Hazy morning light in the living room.
Apart from the wall chart and the arm chair, everything else here is thrifted- even Queen Nefertiti!
It’s definitely a sustainable way to home style but I also love the unique, collected vibe of preloved finds. Win win! 🤎
🌴Right- Sold 🤍
🌴Left - to be framed and available soon
I’m liking my first foray into oil paints- that is, after a very long time! There’s something seductive about working with their velvety smoothness and rich colours, including these olives, corals and a touch of violet.
I’m not loving oil’s less than straightforward clean up afterwards! But nice to add them to the mixed-media repertoire 🎨
The stages of collage … swipe x 3! ➡️
This is my almost-finished botanical artwork - in a gilt frame I picked up thrifting recently.
Slide two: a close up of the hand-painted pieces.
And slide three- the initial assembling of some potential elements for the art.
I love every single step of the puzzle-piece process- from frame sourcing to the finished product! 🎨 ✂️ 🖊️

The snug, a compact little living space at home. It’s primarily styled with preloved finds, including the brown velvet couch, green console and timber coffee table.
Always filled with greenery and an ever-changing array of art, ( .motherhood ) it’s a cosy spot to chill with vintage vinyl, a good book and/or cheeky cocktail 🍸
It may be small in footprint but it’s mightly in function! Swipe ➡️
Last year I sourced these sizable vintage shells from an antique store at the Sunshine Coast
Being well priced I also invested in the lovely delicate piece of coral
The shells were part of a large private collection, originally from the US. Some have been varnished -which sounds terrible!- but it kind of adds to their rustic appeal. And I can soak off the coating anytime.
Meanwhile, as I love found natural objects, they’re a favourite focal point of our living space. And one day I may even get around to drawing them…! ✍️

Up close with a recent abstract, collage landscape. The ‘before’ pic.
I love making these artworks with no prior plan in mind. It’s always exciting to let the materials bounce off each other, paint, draw, add and subtract, til I’m happy with the composition, colours and flow.
This piece is currently being framed.
I’ll post the ‘after’ pic soon 😊
