Leximancer

Leximancer has long-pioneered the approach that meaning must be emergent from the base text and unbiased by external direction.

Leximancer automatically analyses your text documents to identify the high level concepts, delivering the key ideas and actionable insights you need with powerful interactive visualisations and data exports. Our breakthrough technology identifies emergent seed-words in the text, to which it bootstraps a Thesaurus of supporting defining terms to form rich ‘Concept’ entities, that are then cleverly

Are you looking for the Balto or the Togo in your research?

In 1925, diphtheria affected an isolated village in Alaska. Due to the severe cold, it was not possible to transport the medicines by plane and ship, so the transport of the medicines to the town of Noma was organized with the help of mushers (guides or drivers of a dog sled team).
About 1120 miles (1800 kilometers) had to be covered in five days. There were several teams and they took turns on different sections. The Norwegian Gunnar Kasen and his main dog Balto were the first to bring the serum to the village.
It turned out that Kasen had not made a mistake in choosing the main dog, because when the team had an accident, Balto helped his musher, saving him from certain death.
When the storm reached its peak and visibility became low they crossed 85 km. Balto is considered a hero, and in 1925 a monument was erected to him in Central Park in New York.
He was truly a hero, like all the other dogs during this mission. However, the dog that did the most difficult part of the work was Togo who crossed the longest distance 260 miles (418 kilometers). He was part of Leonardo Seppala team of dogs. Togo is the husky, in the photo.

When you design something right, it stand the test of time…

This door is one of the oldest doors in the world located in the Pantheon in Rome, it was built in 118-126 AD, during the time of Emperor Adrian. The gate consists of two wings, each wing is made of solid bronze and weighs 8.5 tonnes, is 7.6 meters high and 2.3 meters wide. Although the wings are extremely heavy, they are so balanced that they can be easily opened and closed by a single person. It’s also one of the few doors in the world whose lock, dating back almost 2000 years ago, still works.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924), who never married and had no children, was walking through a park one day in Berlin when he met a girl who was crying because she had lost her favourite doll. She and Kafka searched for the doll unsuccessfully.

Kafka told her to meet him there the next day and they would come back to look for her.

The next day, when they had not yet found the doll, Kafka gave the girl a letter "written" by the doll saying "please don't cry. I took a trip to see the world. I will write to you about my adventures."

Thus began a story which continued until the end of Kafka's life.

During their meetings, Kafka read the letters of the doll carefully written with adventures and conversations that the girl found adorable.

Finally, Kafka brought back the doll (he bought one) that had returned to Berlin.

"It doesn't look like my doll at all," said the girl.

Kafka handed her another letter in which the doll wrote: "my travels have changed me." The little girl hugged the new doll and brought the doll with her to her happy home.

A year later Kafka died.

Many years later, the now-adult girl found a letter inside the doll. In the tiny letter signed by Kafka it was written:

"Everything you love will probably be lost, but in the end, love will return in another way."

📚Here is a comparison table for Automated content analysis. Are you still handcoding?

With the explosion of data sources and data points there are reams of data at our fingertips. So it makes the task of handcoding just that little more onerous.

What if you could save all that brain power for the important part? Making sense of the data, making connections and diving deep on the relationships that are revealed. Or are you happy to sit with the inherent bias?

It is time to up your research game. Academia has changed. We're twenty years old and excited to still have cutting edge Ai.

What a legend. Can’t wait to put it through Lexi 📚

I could tell you I am fantastic at everything, but I’d be lying.

I just finished recording my audiobook, Be Useful. It comes out October 10. I could tell you how amazing it was to sit down and record my own words, but the truth is, I was absolutely dreading it.

Here’s my secret: I’m a terrible reader. They didn’t talk about learning disabilities in Austria in the 1950s, so most of the time, when I was asked to read out loud in class, it was just a disaster, and I got smacked with a ruler. But now I know that I’m dyslexic.

When I prepare for a movie, I read the script over and over for months until I’ve memorized every line. I need time and reps to get my mind around the words.

They told me authors ready their books in 2 or 3 days at the studio. I asked for the recording equipment at home and told them I’d do 20-30 pages a day. That way I could log in with the director and producer twice a day for shorter sessions and I could practice non-stop in between.

In this process, I used my own lessons.

1. I let myself dread it and complain for a minute, but then I forced myself to get moving, because denial wasn’t going to get it recorded.
2. I did so many reps I couldn’t count. I broke it up into small pieces, knowing that small wins build up into big victories, or in this case, a whole book.
3. I had the help of a fantastic team. My own team, but also the producers and directors Nithya, Danny, and Kris, and Eric who set up the equipment. All of us need help; none of us are self made.

When you listen to the audiobook, I hope you’re inspired, not just by the words, but by the process of recording them. You can pre-order now at BeUsefulBook.com and subscribe to my newsletter if you want stories like this in your inbox at ArnoldsPumpClub.com

Have you ever seen a shooting star? Aboriginal people have been observing them for millennia and signing them meaning and significance. Learn about meteors in Aboriginal traditions here!

Image: Namorrorddo (a profane spirit) by Bob Burruwal

Namorrorddo is a profane spirit sometimes called a 'bad angel' in Aboriginal English.

The Namorrorddo is a yirridjdja moiety being associated with the Yabbadurruwa regional cult ceremony.

Namorrorddo sits upon a rock and is usually painted with long claw like hands and feet. Sometimes spurs protrude from the elbows somewhat like those of a flying fox. Namorrorddo carries light, which emanates from his head. The shooting stars seen at night are Namorrorddo travelling across the night sky.
