Our new 8 week old little fur baby...

On the 10th of February this year (2023) our 12 year old fur baby passed... I missed her so... my little shadow, my creative companion... my heart hurt so much... I was not coping .. in March my wonderful friend found a breeder with a couple of puppy litters .. I was sent this photo of a gorgeous puppy... I instantly fell in love... She was mine...

She came to our home on the 8th of March... She's a little cutie .. full of energy.. played fetch immediately and instantly LOVED.. 😍

Salt dough... I haven't made this for years... You can make some pretty cool things with it... For very little cost..

Normally you would not put colours in the dough.. you paint your creations after baking them.. but I wanted to colour first... I looks cool ..

Ive been working hard planning for a community craft group I facilitate..

I made a couple of these last Christmas for some special friends and orders... It was such a cute design I couldn't have my ladies miss out on making them too ..
We added butterfly's to ours... A little extra ..

So many awesome things you can do with the sea turtles stamp set ..

Techniques used.. for backgrounds daubers or blending brushes...

Technique on the really bright turtle was baby wipe inking .. then you cover the whole image with versa mark and coat with embossing powder... You can add a little glitter too... To make it a little more sparkly... It comes up so BEAUTIFULLY!!!

I love my water colour pencils and Aqua painters... You can get such great control of colours...

Fantastic bunch of ladies and one little gent attended this evening class..
We were enjoying one another's company that we talked and laughed way too much; forgot we were on a time frame (1 hour working time) for pouring resin....and nearly had catastrophic failure... Because the resin was setting... WELL...
HOWEVER... ... We managed to save a couple of projects... Phew (wipes brow) Nothing like blowtorch heat.. determination and refusing to accept any of my class members will fail and have a project they will hate!!!

Master 8 and Miss 14 turned out FANTASTIC projects...
Master 8 informed us that he is going to use his when he has a taco feast!!!

A whole family of memory pillows...
I had the pleasure of making several pillows for a dear friend her children and grandchildren. These were made from her late husband's shirts... He always wore these they were some of his favourites.
What a beautiful way to "hold tight" to the memory of a loved one...

I love decorating for Christmas...
Over the years I've made quite a few things for decorating...
Tree ornaments, tree skirts, bunting banners, snowman, Nativity sets etc etc...

Christmas in the park 2022...
Last weekend was our local Christmas Carols in Underwood Park event...
I decorated again..
The rain was so bad in the lead up we really thought it was not going to happen cause the grass was too mushy.. many things went wrong behind the scenes... But the Lord had other plans.. the show must go on...

It was the same set up as last year.. so nothing much different.. but having done it before we managed to do it faster this year..

Our local Councelor... Lisa Bradley opened the night.. some performance took place.. some community caroling.. 4 fat Santa's sang a song . Some little ones saw them and ran to them... It was so cute to see the sweet innocent trust they had in jolly ol' Saint Nick ... some lollies were given to the kids and a fun competition of some of the audience Mums to eat a Christmas cookie without their hands . Oh my that really cracked me up!!!
Then to top it all off we had fireworks at the end..
What a great night .

They're Engaged...
Our eldest son popped the question in October... We held their engagement party a few weeks ago...
The kids had some thoughts and ideas of a low key deco party . And I had a BUNCH of stuff.. together we made it happen..

With a free pallet from local hardware store.. some fairy lights, flowers and pegs we created this cute picture board..
A small plant greenhouse from IKEA, flowers, lights and Vinal words we made the wishing well...

And thanks to scrapbooking camp earlier on this year I won the guest book.. so I covered it in white fabric.. designed a cover in Photoshop and wrapped it in a thin plastic PVC table covering..

It's such a cool thing to have people take their pictures and write in the book..

I also designed and printed out a "welcome" sign..
Yeah for low maintenance decorations..

The night was lovely.. it was GREAT to catch up with so many of our sons friends and meet some of his fiance's friends .

The perfect retirement gift...
A girlfriend contacted me over the weekend and sent me a screenshot of a Pinterest idea she had seen and asked if I could do something like it??

Of course.. in fact I had a box frame that had been sitting in my studio for a few years just waiting for the right project to come along... I was excited to get started..

I cut out some 10cm circles and then cut then into a spiral flower pattern. Bonefolded the card stock to distress and break up the fibres. Then wound them into a tight spiral and hot glued them onto my silicone mat. Allowed them to cool and set. Trimmed off excess glue. Then assembled them on the backing card..

It's the personal connection and story behind the gift that brings the true beauty and meaning to this gift.
My girlfriend originally wanted to have a message like "A new journey begins" which was nice.... but then she shared with me how this lady had been teaching for over 30 years, and last year she had a difficult time. She was feeling that she wasn't connecting or reaching the children; that they weren't benefiting from her teaching... Then inspiration hit... like lightning... A new sentiment was imagined... "You made a difference!" That was IT!!! The message... That was needed and perfect.

What a blessing it is to be able to create something a beauty that touches one's soul!!

Last weekend I had the privilege of decorating for a dear friends daughters wedding.. it's the first time all decorations have been supplied by the "client".. it was so nice to turn up and just create a beautiful atmosphere!!! No hassle of ordering, carting, storing, sorting, counting, worrying and wondering... I really enjoyed it... Just creating..

We did use my backdrop/photobooth poles, material and lights.. and my how wonderful did it look?? So I did cart a little.. but very minimal!!

If you wonder why functions cost so much... There's at least 12 hours of work in this set up.. with a team varying from 3 to 8 people... Without the months of planning purchasing etc etc in the lead up to the event...

What a STUNNING vision and event... Congratulations to all involved.. # # #

Have you ever.... ???

My dear friend and I were out one Friday recently... and we had a shopping mission... to find some pillows to match her new bedspread... while perusing TKMax we saw this FANTASTICALLY GORGEOUS dogs bed... It was a perfect match!!! But it was a Dog's bead... I suggested it could be pulled apart and cushions could be made from it.... So that's what I did for her birthday present this year...

I'm looking forward to seeing them on her bed.... They are soooooooooooooooooooo Suzie!!!

Encanto Ball decorations.

I arranged some bougainvillea to make the Photobooth more 3D.
The circle fans were made from many sheets of concertinaed coloured paper.
I scored it at one inch on my Stampin'Up! Scoreboard.. saved so much time...
Thankfully we had a working bee to have some of the paper decorations mass produced..
So many helpers makes light work...

Get Your Wish List Ready!

The dedication of one father this week totally amazed me...

Book week.. everyone loves it.. we love to see our kids dress up and have fun... But when you or the kids leave things to the last min.. well.. it makes it hard to chuck together a great costume that.........hummm

Well let's be real...now... You can just picture this right?!!!

Parade time.. kids are all walking in the circle to show off their costuming skills... And the other more organised parents will look at your kid and pitty them... Saying nasty things like... "Oh poor kid.. you can tell the parents didn't help them... Good on them for giving it a go though.."
Ouch that stings..

But if you really want to see dedication... One man... Started at 10am... Going to several retail shops to find a plain orange shirt.. called me after visiting 2... and asked about my "Silhouette Cameo 4" scan and cut machine and how it works... He told me his plan and I said "YEP we can do that for sure!!"I also suggested a couple of other shops he could check out for orange shirts.. he called and visited them only to find that orange shirts do not exist...

So at 5pm.. he went to spotlight to get some orange dye ... To make his own damn orange shirt... It too ages for it to rinse out clear.. and then to dry... Then he came to me and we did the transfer work and ironed it on... he left our place at around 9pm...

That's some serious dedication to costuming!!!

What a SUPER happy young man was his son though.. and how handsome did he look?? Whoot whoot.. (wolf whistle.)

Happy Book Week everyone... .

We've had two sessions of our Stampin'Up! Kit fundraiser... Last week...
One on Thursday with the lovely Ray and Kay... And another on the Saturday with Fabulous Robyn, Marj and Lisa...

Unfortunately I had to cancel Monday's one this week ... I got some lurgy.. boo hoo 😭😭 but we should be good for next week.. with 6 more ladies...

We are raising funds for The Smith Foundation.

Everyone gets a prize or two.. and Marj even had a cake for her birthday... And shared it with us.. Nom Nom Nom.. so good..
