The new website is important to me because I believe we all have a birthright to access the ancient wisdom of plants. I’ve been constantly inspired by witnessing the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth within myself and our community after a decade of serving elixirs both within Australia and internationally. In these times, I believe it’s necessary to work with the plant allies to help us stay calm, regulated, energized, and focused in a world that constantly pulls our attention in different directions. Their influence helps us maintain presence and stay centered through uncertain times.

It’s vital that we keep evolving, and as an Initiator, I have a role to play in continuing to support individual and collective transformation by offering the connection to these very special gifts of nature.

Through this website expansion, we are strengthening our foundations and building a network of custodians passionate about sharing their stories. This will help spread our incredible message further across Australia, lighting up the hearts of our community and beyond, intentionally aligning with their passions and living a more vibrant, wholesome life on Earth—connected to what truly matters and serving from the most joyful place naturally within them.

We are leading each other into a whole new era on Earth, and these tools are here to support that journey.

Love,
Venus - Botanika Creative Visionary & Initiatrix

Repost from

“I am asking every man and woman to come to my homelands to join me and my family at Waddananggu – ‘The Talking’. Waddananggu is an evolving and multifaceted ceremony.

We have set up a stone Bora ring and ceremonial ground opposite Adani’s mine and are asserting our human rights as Wangan and Jagalingou people to practice culture.

Come to witness Waddananggu – ‘the talking’ – and stand with us to protect our human rights to practice ceremony and culture, and protect our homelands.

ngali yinda banna, yumbaba-gi. We need you, to be heard."

This colonial invasion corruption & deceit needs to stop. Its against natural lore to cause harm to the land especially sacred water ways & rainbow serpent power sites. Adani have no respect for culture its gone way too far.

Why is it all other religions are recognised & respected but Aboriginal spirituality is brushed aside so cruelly? Come on now.Lets rise together Love Venus 🧡

Welcome to Djilba – Growing season, or the season of conception in Noongar Boodja ☀️

This is a transitional time of the year roughly coinciding with August-September, with some very cold and clear days combining with warmer, rainy and windy days and the occasional sunny day or two. And some days, you’ll get a little bit of everything!

Djilba heralds the beginning of the flower explosion that occurs across Nyungar boodja each year and in particular, a time to look for yellow and cream flowers on mass.

This starts with yellow flowering plants, most notably our many wattle (Acacia) species. Just to name a few, you will see bright masses of mindalleny (prickley moses) and cujong (golden wreath wattle or Acacia saligna) blossom in the jarrah forest and coastal areas, while mungart (jam wattle) is prolific further inland.

The wannang (peppermint or Agonis flexuosa) also bursts into full flower, with cascades of beautiful, tiny, creamy-white flowers covering its weeping branches. This this signals that it’s time to go fishing for the blue-swimmer crab near the coast and estuaries.

There are also still some vivid and striking blues, like the kummock (Australian bluebell creeper or Billardiera heterophylla formerly Sollya heterophylla), which will fruit later in the year.

Traditionally, the main food sources at this time of year included many of the land dwelling animals as in the season before, like the yonga (grey kangaroo), waitj (emu) and koomal (brush-tailed possum).

As the days start to warm up, we start to see and hear the first of the newborns with their proud parents out and about providing them food, guiding them through foraging tasks and protecting them. The woodland birds will still be nest bound, hence the protective swooping behaviour of the koolbardi (magpie) starts to ramp up and if watched closely, so to do the djidi djidi (willy-wag-tails) and the chuck-a-luck (wattle birds) to name a couple of others.

Thankyou for the info - all referenced from Kooyar Wongi 🧡

And so the solo vision quest begins in the Botanika bus around Noongar Boodjar & up through the guts to Karajini.

This journey means a lot to me. It is the end of many cycles. Of losing my father, my beloved sent home to his lands, coming deeper into the parts of myself that have been hidden by layers of trauma.

It is about not only honoring my grieving space but seeking wisdom within for this next chapter of my life & how / where I can be in service to humanity. Along this journey I will be offering botanika libations to the country I pass through to pay respect to the Ancestors & aligned with this years Naidoc theme ‘heal country’.

I will also be offering song & drum to the areas where the missions were & following the Rabbit proof fence. I will be laying my fathers ashes back in his birth country Wiluna. I fully open to give & receive wonderfull blessings along the journey & connect with soul mob & give back medicines to mob. My heart is open, I feel wild as I expand into the unknown. With love, Venus 🌹🧡

Reconcilation - what does it look like?

It looks like no separation,
Recognising we are a world culture
That the land doesnt own us, and we dont own it. Remembering that we are apart of it & here to work in synergy with the cycles as caretakers & custodians we all are.

Breaking through the illusions, the hierachy & the powers that attempt to create a negative polarity in the world & turn us all against eachother.

For me it is about cultural acknowledgment & respect of the traditional custodians who are & always will be.

Its about giving Aboriginal people a voice on all platforms.

Its about the world & particularly Australia looking to the originals with respect & non judgement.

Its about people as individuals doing the healing work on self so they can stop judging themselves & therefore their external environment.

Choosing to creating unity & coming together to celebrate Aboriginal culture.

Its about participating in active listening, learning, observing & realising how we can work together in these spaces to honour traditional ways by sitting with the Elders.

In Australia there has been alot of negative conditioning instilled in us through falsities, lies & indoctrination which has unfortunately lead to major division.

It is about innerstanding there are cycles of generational trauma playing out through the devastating effects of colonisation which unfortunately continue still to this day.

So now is the time to live in the new way now. The only way out is to rise above. Decolonise. To break these patterns & realise how we can change on a personal level so we can truly heal as a collective & reconcile. To rebuild the rainbow bridge.

Its never about forgetting the past, but about paving the way forward for more respect, equality & empowerment of Aboriginal culture in all of its multidimensional richness. We have so much to learn from our beautiful extended friends & family.

From my heart I acknowledge the past, present & emerging Elders of all nations across Australia & it is my prayer that we may reach unity through channeling the above words into thoughtful kind & loving actions. With love, Venus 🙏

Banksia (Proteacaea)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A wide ranging family of plant, Banksia features extensively as a wildflower here in WA, with over 60 varieties found here. The flower heads are made up of hundreds (sometimes thousands) of tiny individual flowers grouped together in pairs. The colour of the flower heads usually ranges from yellow to red. The fruits protect the seeds from foraging animals and from fire. In many species the fruits will not open until they have been burnt or completely dried out. This reminds us of how often Australian plants require burning and how integral fire management is to the land here.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When we passed through Uluru on our way south, we made sure that we offered our songs and sonics. Singing up the land is a vital component of our role as humans. It is what makes the land sing. It is its enchantment. You can tell a land that has been sung by how it feels when you are in it. And so using your voice, or a medicine drum, or both, and harmonising your sonic with the sonic of the land allows the land to resonate and vibrate with love by care and attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Connecting via song, or even a hum, is a simple and easy way to feel at one within and without. 🙌🏽⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In the wake of past and ongoing colonisation of this land, it can often be despairing for those who do not follow the mainstream narrative and wish to offer some form of giving back to country and peoples. When we crossed into Kalkadoon country in Outback QLD, we stopped to pay our respects with libation, prayers and song. Through offering our tonics to the land, we are honouring tradition of paying respects, which serves to keep the ancestors and spirits of the land in reverence and respect. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We are here to remind people that we can give back to the land, rather than just taking continously from it. We are the land, and so its healing is ours, ours the lands. By offering our tonics, we are offering our medicine to heal, and we encourage all that use our tonics to do the same. 🙌🏽 🤲🏼 🙌🏽⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ochre. Ochre has always been cherished by our ancestors across many different lands and cosmologies. Although the ways of seeing differ according to belief, we find common linkages within ritual and ceremony of earthly reverence. And so what is a common material that unites all of humanity in its companionship? Clay and ochre. Clay is known throughout many cultures as being the medium with which humans are moulded by universal forces.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ochre is the spiritual ethereal companion to clay; for it represents that changeability of form and phase that allows one to shapeshift and transform. Hence why its use is as far ranging as ritual dancing to ritual burial. It is our connection to country, and our connection to ourselves.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stay tuned on our website for an upcoming blog on ochre and other great topics 🙏 🙏🏾⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
