Active stretching engages your muscles and joints, helping you build strength, flexibility, and stability all at once making us actively involved in the process.
Whereas passive stretching involves holding a position and maybe relying on external forces to stretch.
By training with active stretching this not only improves our range of motion but also enhances body awareness, strength, control and coordination.
We think that in order to achieve results or train “hard” we have to lift heavy weights, run fast, do as many reps as we possibly can, in the quickest time we can! We reward ourself with ticking a box to say “we’ve done it”. With repetition, training like this is only putting stress on our body and our mental health. Unconsciously training our external self rather then our internal being. When it comes to our training, are we able to find challenges in a slower, concentrated and intrinsic paced environment? We can, by doing good Pilates. Investing in our self by training our physical form to show up as strongest selfs everyday. So that even when we have bad day, we’re in a sound body.. therefore, a sound mind. 🙏🏻
