As you turn 21, I find myself marveling at the woman you’ve become.
It feels like just yesterday I held you in my arms,l tiny fingers and wide blue eyed wonder.
Now look at you
standing gorgeous n tall, fierce n full of compassion
So ready to take on the world.
Wonderful since you arrived inside me growing in my womb, it’s been a blessing making you with all my love and yoga and eating well and no drugs or tea so you could be healthy … so worth it and it’s all into my heart forever.
I’ve watched you stumble and rise, doubt and believe, cry and laugh. Through it all, your spirit has shone brighter than any star in the sky.
As your mother, I’ve been your biggest fan, your personal cheerleader, chef, your and friends chauffeur (you’re welcome, by the way). I’ve tried my best to have you in a gorgeous town with all you needed to grow up in this crazy world
I’ve tried to give you roots and wings. You so wanted real ones and you have them for the only few special one that can and will see you as the beautiful angel you are.
I’ve aimed to show you kindness in a sometimes unkind world, strength in the face of adversity, and the power of being unapologetically yourself. Seeing all your qualities blossom in you
It fills me with a pride, so so deep it takes my breath away.
Your courage inspires me. Your laughter lifts me and make me cry of happiness especially now that I miss you so much being far away.
Your compassion humbles me. You’ve taught me more about life and love than I’ve ever taught you.
My beautiful, caring, perfect Lilu , as you step into this new chapter,

Mia adorata bambina,
Mentre compi 21 anni, mi ritrovo meravigliata dalla donna che sei diventata.
Sembra ieri che ti tenevo tra le mie braccia, con le tue piccole dita e i tuoi grandi occhi blu pieni di meraviglia.
Guardati ora
in piedi, splendida e alta, fiera e piena di compassione
Così pronta ad affrontare il mondo.
Meravigliosa fin da quando sei arrivata dentro di me, crescendo nel mio grembo, è stata una benedizione crearti con tutto il mio amore, lo yoga, mangiando bene e senza droghe o tè affinché potessi essere sana... ne è valsa così tanto la pena e tutto questo è impresso nel mio cuore per sempre.
Ti ho vista inciampare e rialzarti, dubitare e credere, piangere e ridere. Attraverso tutto questo, il tuo spirito ha brillato più di qualsiasi stella nel cielo.
Come tua madre, sono stata la tua più grande fan, la tua cheerleader personale, la cuoca, l'autista tua e dei tuoi amici (di niente, a proposito). Ho fatto del mio meglio per farti crescere in una splendida città con tutto ciò di cui avevi bisogno per crescere in questo mondo pazzo.
Ho cercato di darti radici e ali. Le desideravi così tanto quelle vere e le hai per quei pochi speciali che possono e vorranno vederti come il bellissimo angelo che sei.
Ho cercato di mostrarti la gentilezza in un mondo a volte poco gentile, la forza di fronte alle avversità e il potere di essere te stessa senza scuse.
Vedere tutte le tue qualità sbocciare in te
Mi riempie di un orgoglio così profondo da togliermi il respiro.
Il tuo coraggio mi ispira. La tua risata mi solleva e mi fa piangere di felicità, specialmente ora che mi manchi così tanto essendo lontana.
