Important Update for our Cessnock STOMP Festival for 2024

Cessnock STOMP Festival Announces Reschedule - Cessnock Business Chamber The Cessnock STOMP Festival Committee today announced the decision to reschedule the 2024 Cessnock STOMP Festival to Sunday, April 6, 2025.

After 9 years with Cessnock Business Chamber we have accepted the resignation of Matthew Evans from our volunteer board. Matt has been a massive contributor over the years working on all events and projects.
Thank you Matt for your hard work, dedication and commitment to seeing a better business community for Cessnock.

Each year, approximately 3800 people in New South Wales experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, and sadly around 90% are unable to be revived. Studies have shown that the combination of CPR and defibrillation can increase survival rates by up to 70%.

We are disappointed with the news of NAB closing their Cessnock branch, and are concerned for the ramifications on their business and personal banking customers.
The Business Chamber has been in contact with our 3 members in the Banking Sector Westpac , Beyond Bank & Greater Bank who have all confirmed they are remaining in Cessnock, and committed to the Cessnock LGA.

This International Womens Day we shine a light on three amazing women, Sarah Pascoe our President, Kristy Davies our Secretary & Krystal Sellars our newest Board Member.
We also acknowledge the amazing Women who are business owners, managers and leaders here in Cessnock.

An update from our members Abermain Hotel. It's so important to get the information directly from the owners, any other headline is speculation. We look forward to seeing Jade and Cass reopen and welcome people back into their beautiful hotel.

You've probably been wondering what happened here over the weekend and how the hotel is going.

Thanks to the quick actions of staff, patrons and fire brigade the damage is isolated to the area in the photo, with the rest of the hotel just needing a good clean from smoke residue and soot, not to mention the smoke smell.

Restoration works are currently underway to restore power to the hotel and get clean up works happening.

We will be reopen as soon as full power is restored and the hotel is deemed safe, we will update again as we know more.

Exciting new addition to our volunteer board tonight, Krystal Sellars, Cessnock Hospitality Group. Krystal has been a long term supporter of the Business Chamber and a very vocal and passionate Cessnock local. We are excited to have Krystal join our team and look forward to working with her to enhance the Business Community.
