Robert Sheehan: ‘My anxiety had got to the point where if I was left alone I was a twitching mess’ 01/09/2024

* A new book from actor Robert Sheehan, sharing his struggles to manage his mental health which led him to embrace a unique style of meditation.

“I don’t want to slag other meditation writing off, but a lot of it neglects to include moments of silliness,” he says.

“The way I try to square it is by writing a book that’s a good laugh.”

He hopes other people will discover that meditation doesn’t require them to sit solemnly at an altar in themselves.

“Instead, it can just be a light thing and also a laugh, and creative, and all aspects of what it means to be alive.”

Robert Sheehan: ‘My anxiety had got to the point where if I was left alone I was a twitching mess’ He’s known for freewheeling roles in Misfits and The Umbrella Academy, but now he’s written a book on meditation. What led him to this mindful career pivot?

🖤 Grief Awareness Day 🖤 | August 30

Today, we honor by recognising grief's profound impact on our lives. Grief is a natural response to loss, but for some, it can lead to an increased risk of su***de.

At LivingWorks, we understand the critical connection between grief and ***dePrevention. Our training programs, like ASIST (Applied Su***de Intervention Skills Training), equip individuals with the skills to support those in crisis, including those dealing with intense grief.

Let's unite to support one another and raise awareness about the importance of understanding grief and providing intervention.

Amazing!! Thank you for your work to build awareness of mental health in the community. Good luck with the run! 🌻

GUNDITJMARA brothers Javier and Darchi Clarke are hoping to shine some light on the darkness of mental health.

They aim to run over 220km in five days (equivalent to five marathons) to raise funds and awareness around mental health and su***de prevention.

Their run will start in Ballarat, Victoria, on Tuesday, September 10 (World Su***de Prevention Day), and they aim to arrive in Echuca five days later.

They will be supported along the way by their parents, Paul and Clare (who is a nurse), and their mate, Lachie Trotman, who will be riding a bike.

They have a Gofundme page (ClarkeRun) to raise money for Lifeline Australia
