To all our loyal customers we have sadly made the decision to close the Indi Eco Collective store. But, the silver lining is we are having a CLOSING DOWN SALE with up to 50% OFF on selected items. For our regular refill customers, we can offer Kin Kin and other chemical-free products as a special order in 5 and 20-ltr containers. We also have ECYO dishwasher tablets in 100 and 50-tab bags. As we head down the home straight to Christmas here are our trading hours for the week ahead. We have a selection of unique, ethical, and sustainable gifts, plus local creative artwork, photography, upcycled clothing, and homewares, that not only give a one-of-a-kind gift for someone special but also support our local creatives.

Black Friday sales have already started and it feels like everywhere we turn we're being told to buy.

📌 But unless we're buying something we really need, let's resist the urge and reject overconsumption this sales season!

We opened our little shop in 2022 not just to bring earth-friendly, sustainable products to the Corryong and Upper Murray community but also to provide a retail space for the local creatives to display their work and hopefully, gain a sale or three. When you support the hyped-up media sales like Black Friday and not your local retail shops, your money is supporting the massive profits of big corporations and the overseas economy, not the little businesses in your local area or the local economy that it supports. We are not just one day; we are every day.

Due to the planned power outage (now cancelled) and like most businesses in town, we are closed tomorrow. Living in a regional area getting much-needed appointments on the days that suit doesn’t always fit in with shop hours and tomorrow finally the Gods aligned and plans have been made. But we are open Friday and Saturday at 10 am ☀️💚

It’s about being a conscious consumer. Yes, some ethically made fashion is high end but it will last a hellova lot longer then that cheap as crop top 😏 💚

Wow what a deal! 😳 $9.99 for a top to be designed, fabric produced/grown/dyed, patterns made, fabric cut, pieces sewn together, shipped across the globe & retailed in a store...

This is NOT how much a top costs 🚫

For the price to be this low, people throughout this supply chain were exploited. The hands who made the garment, the people who transported the fabrics, dyed the clothes - to name a few.

We've been trained to expect clothing for the price of a coffee & a muffin. So when we see sustainably made garments for $200+ we say "oh gosh I cannot afford that" 💰

Unfortunately, if you don't pay the price at checkout someone else will - but with their livelihood, dignity, ability to feed themselves & their families. You (*see next paragraph) CAN afford it when you learn to consume less, prioritise your money, shop second hand, rent, borrow, repair.

*I acknowledge people who live week by week & cannot purchase ethically made fashion (this is a complex social issue I cannot explain in one post - these people are not the problem!) but most shoppers taking advantage of sales like this can stop & instead...

+ Consume less: shop your own wardrobe first 👗

+ Adopt a 'cost-per-wear' mindset (these $9.99
t-shirts probably won't last long because the people making them are forced to rush the process so they can pump out as many garments as possible) 😔

+ Educate yourself around the true cost of fashion & what it takes to make a garment - The True Cost is a great documentary. Once you learn, you'll be less tempted to waste money on these kind of sales.

The wintery weather not only affects humans. Dogs can also suffer with arthritic conditions that can make movement difficult. My little lady Lila is starting to show her age and is becoming stiff in her hindquarters. As you can see she has it tough!😉 I use red light therapy every night and have noticed significant improvement in her freedom of movement as the non-invasive treatment reduces inflammation by penetrating deep into muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones. With the colder weather making its presence felt I know I would rather be snuggled up in front of the fire with a cup of chai and a good book rather than venturing outside. To make life easier we are considering offering home delivery of our earth-friendly range of refill options including laundry liquid and powder, dishwash liquid, chemical-free cleaning, hair and body wash, sodium bicarb, and Epsom salts. Comment below with a 👍 and let us know your location so we can work out the demand. There will be a minimum order value for all home delivery but get your neighbours together and save.
