2024 Masters Swimming Australia National Championships Closure

Parap Pool will be hosting the 2024 Masters Swimming Australia National Championships.

The Lessons will not run on the following dates:
Friday 3 May to Monday 6 May 2024
During this time, Parap Pool will be closed to public swimming; however, entry is free of charge for spectators, so please come along and witness Australia’s top senior swimmers in action.

Nightcliff Pool will operate as per its normal opening hours throughout.

Hi All Nightcliff Families,

As the dry season approaches, we have made the decision to stop lessons at Nightcliff as the dates below.

Wednesday & Friday morning classes will finish week ending 26th of May
Monday & Wednesday Afternoon classes will finish week ending 2nd June

We require an email sent through of your decision, whether you would like to cancel or move over to Parap, if you wish to move to Parap we will supply the times we have available for that.

In celebration of the upcoming Easter holiday, we would like to inform you that all classes will be canceled on Friday 29th March, Saturday 30th March, Sunday 31st March and Monday 1st April. Regular classes will resume on Tuesday, April 2nd.

Attention Learn to swim Community,

Just a friendly reminder about the photo & video rules during swimming lessons!

Instructor Approval: Seek permission from the swimming instructor before taking photos or videos of the lessons.
Respect Privacy: Always respect the privacy of other families and their children during swimming lessons. Do not capture or share photos or videos that include other participants without their explicit consent.
Focus on Your Child: If you want to capture your child's progress, focus on them during the lesson. Avoid including other children or parents in the frame.
No Disturbance: Ensure that taking photos or videos does not disrupt the swimming lesson or pose any safety risks.
Turn Off the Flash: If you're using a camera with a flash, turn it off. Bright flashes can be distracting and potentially unsafe around the pool area.
Ask for Consent: If you wish to share photos or videos that include other participants or their children, obtain explicit consent from the individuals involved, and respect their decision.
Storage and Sharing: Safeguard the photos and videos you capture and share them only with family and friends. Avoid posting them publicly on social media without consent.
Follow Facility Policies: Comply with any additional rules or policies set by the swimming facility regarding photography and recording during swimming lessons.

Hello everyone!
We love seeing all the happy faces splashing around in the pool and learning new skills.
We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of our pool safety rules to ensure that every child has a fun and safe experience:
1. Check in at the Kiosk on the way in
2. Arrive 5 minutes early to avoid disruptions.
3. Wait for the teacher to be in the pool first.
4. Children must sit on the step before entering the water.
5. All children under the age of 5 must be dropped off and picked up by the parent/Guardian.
6. Siblings of children attending lessons cannot be in the water during the lesson.
7. Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim nappy while in the water.
8. If your child is under 4 one parent gets free entry. Above 4 years of age if you are going to go swimming you are required to pay entry.
Thank you for your cooperation in following these rules.

About last weekend 🏊

On Saturday, our staff came together for an in-water training session at Parap Pool Darwin. Those training days are ideal to revise teaching methods and give us the opportunity to learn from each other.

We continue to upskill as teachers to ensure we deliver lessons of high standard for you and your children 😊

Philbert's Five Tips for swimming in the Dry Season:

✅ Bring a Towel to wrap yourself into after your lesson
✅ Wear a Swim Cap to keep your hair dry
✅ Swim in a heated pool - our pool sits around 30 degrees 🔥
✅ Have a hot shower once you finished your lesson
✅ Bring warm clothes to change into when you get out of the pool

We can put your direct debit* on hold for up to 6 weeks in a year.

- the lesson your child / you are enrolled into
- the dates you won't be able to attend a lesson

*we cannot place a pause on vouchers. Facility memberships will also be paused during the time you are away.
