Today is International Firefighters’ Day! Please join us in expressing our gratitude to all NCCTRC and AUSMAT firefighters, as well as those who support them. Our firefighters play a diverse role responding to a various disasters and emergencies, managing logistics and health responses during deployment. We thank you for your extraordinary commitment, courage and selfless service.

World Health Day - My heath, my right
Around the world, the right to health for millions is at risk as diseases, disasters, conflicts, and environmental challenges impact our ability to ensure everyone has access to essential health services.⁠ This year’s #WorldHealthDay theme is ‘My health, my right’ to advocate for universal access to quality healthcare, education, safe drinking water, nutrition, quality housing, decent work and environmental conditions and freedom from discrimination. At the NCCTRC, we are continually building our capacity to strengthen health emergency responses.

💻Communication is key when our AUSMAT members hit the ground in a public health emergency or enter a disaster zone. IT and Communications Manager Juno Eadie shared some of the crucial tools that are taken on deployment, including a series that have been developed by NCCTRC.

The NCCTRC Pacific Scholarship for Grad Cert Aeromedical Retrieval attracted very high calibre applicants. In an acknowledgement of the competitive applications received, the NCCTRC and DFAT have increased the number of scholarships from two to four for 2021!
