What an incredible Sunday service at Hope Perth Church! 🙌
We were truly blessed to have our youth join the praise and worship team this week—MJ, Christabelle, Stephanie, and Elsha led us in a powerful time of worship. It’s so inspiring to see the next generation praising God with such passion! 🎶✨
This week was also our “Youth Matters” topic, and it was amazing to see how God is moving in the lives of our young people. Let’s continue to support and encourage our youth as they grow in faith!
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.”
1 Corinthians 12:12 ESV
Each of us is uniquely gifted and indispensable to the Church. God has intricately designed and equipped us for our journey with Him, to walk alongside others.
Volunteer Sunday was a powerful reminder to our church community of this truth. Every Sunday, we collaborate to ensure our services run smoothly, from those on stage to those behind the scenes managing lights. Our church warmly welcomes volunteers, so if you feel called to serve, please approach our ministry leaders. May everyone have a week with opportunities to encounter God’s grace and love! 💗
We are thrilled to announce that Hope International Ministries (HIM) has appointed Lawrence Ong as the anointed pastor of Hope Perth Church! ❤️
Congratulations, Pastor Lawrence! 🎉 Your hard work and dedication to our church community have been truly inspiring. We are incredibly grateful for everything you and Pat have contributed over the years.
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate and thank God for Pastor Lawrence and Pat. Your unwavering commitment has been a blessing to us all. 🙏✨

Such a delightful Sunday seeing familiar and new faces on the second Sunday of 2023!☺️
Last Sunday, Aaron shared a solid preaching to kickstart our new year Jesus Christ’s way and challenged us to ask ourselves these 3 questions as we reflect and plan for this year:
👉🏽 How precious is the Kingdom of God to you in your life today?
👉🏽Is the Kingdom of God worthy of your sacrifice?
👉🏽Are you willing to lose it all to gain the Kingdom of God?
“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
Philippians 1:20-21 NIV
Have a victorious week ahead, church! 🔥🙏🏻
Love your neighbour as yourself - the second greatest commandment. Easier said than done you say? Well that is exactly it! We just can't do it without God.
Jesus also mentioned this commandment in Matthew 22:37-39:
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'
Notice how this commandment of loving your neighbour as yourself immediately follows after the commandment of loving God with all your heart, soul and mind? It is no wonder the second commandment. Because without the first, it is impossible to do the second. Only by truly loving God, can He empower us to love our neighbour.
A Pharisee once wanted to test Jesus. After asking Him what the greatest commandment was, he asked "Who is my neighbour?" Instead of answering directly, Jesus spoke about the parable of the Good Samaritan instead of answering the question "Who is my neighbour?". In the Parable, Jesus indirectly taught us that rather, we should ask ourselves "Am I a neighbour"?. It is obvious from the parable that anyone can be our neighbour, even a complete stranger.
As we continue to love God, let us also continue to love everyone❤️
How beautiful it is to worship God — to exalt His greatness, to overflow in gratitude, to meditate on His Grace and to pour our sorrows in confidence! And how beautiful it is to magnify our praise and worship when we share it with our fellow believers. 🤍
Happy Sunday everyone!
Romans 8:28:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Last Sunday, brother Pang Chieng shared with us the word of God and his life testimonies to help us to navigate through life when Good is Bittersweet. The word 'good', is often associated with being happy, trouble-free, financially successful or with our own idea of the best outcome in life. However in reality, good can be bittersweet as what's good for us may come with emotional pain or suffering in the process.
When we are in the midst of a difficult season, let's make room for God to bear His eternal fruit in us and let's learn to love God deeper ❤
We were blessed to see our church growing before our own eyes!
Last Sunday, four families dedicated their children to God as they pledged to raise their children the godly way.
“Train up a child he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” - Proverbs 22:6
Have a blessed weekend and see you at church tomorrow 10am! ☀️🙌
Thank you church for your immense generousity to Hands of Love! 🙏🏻 It was amazing to see God’s bountiful economy in action! “Salvation comes from the Lord!”
~Jonah 2:9b
No one is beyond the reach of God’s mercy. No one. Mercy is abundant not just for the non- believers, but also the believers. May we humble our hearts to acknowledge and act upon our constant need for God’s mercy and renewal. As Ps Don Neuff quotes, “Repentance is a characteristic of the whole life, not a single moment.” — a good takeaway as we close our “Is God Really Good?” series. Stay steadfast and faithful, church! 🙏🏻 Our God is so good!
We love our children at Hope Perth!
Children are the best creation of God, they spread joy in every season. Let us paint this day with the beautiful colors of childhood. Happy Children’s Day!
What is your best childhood memory? Comment below! :)
It was an awesome Sunday with lots of smiles in the house of the Lord!
Our church coordinator Lawrence Ong also celebrated his birthday yesterday! We surprised him after church with a cake with lots of candles to blow 🥳 Happy birthday, Lawrence! Thank you for leading Hope Perth and we just want to say 'We appreciate and we honour you on your special day!'. Your boldness in preaching God's word and your love for God's flock keeps the church invigorated for God!
We are truly blessed to have a leader like you 😊
Have a blessed week ahead!
When Sunday comes and it's time to go to church!
Is God really good?
Last Sunday, we were blessed to hear from our brother Aaron sharing on part two of our 'Is God Really Good' series. And here's a part of his message:
Jesus said “No one is good—except God alone.” (Luke 18:19b). Goodness is a part of God’s nature and that is who He is. He is good.
But our understanding of ‘good’ may be different from God’s definition of ‘good’. People may even question the goodness of God:
“If God is good, why do bad things happen to good people then?”
“If God is really good, why is war still happening in the world?”
Often we may not see God’s goodness until we've come to the end of the whole situation or saga. And sometimes we may not even get to see the end of it during our lifetime! It may seem to us that God is unjust, unloving or even cruel during the process because we are limited by our understanding and perspective of 'good'.
If God is not the measure of 'good', then you and I, who are selfish and sinful, would be the one determining what is good and bad. And when that happens, good becomes relative. It is not absolute.
That is why it is important for us to know why God is good and everything that He does is good in accordance to His wise purposes. God, and only God alone, is the definition of good. He is good even when we are not :)
Join us this Sunday for the 'finale'! 🔥

See you church! ☺️
Such great privelege to be hearers and bearers of God’s Word! ✨📖 May we be steadfast in our conviction to listen, obey and build the foundations of our lives on the true and neverchanging anchor - our UNSHAKEABLE GOD! 💪🏼🙏🏻
Have a blessed and victorious week ahead!
🙌🏼 Who else got that post-camp high?
Praise God our church camp finally pushed through amidst all the challenges the previous years have brought! Indeed, our church is unshakeable! Why? because OUR GOD IS UNSHAKEABLE! ⛰🙌🏼
Sharing some highlights of our camp in Fairbridge Village, Pinjarra. It was a fervent 3 days of reflection, learning, fellowship, worship and prayer and I’m sure everyone got refreshed and replenished in Christ!
Have a blessed week, church! We’ll see you all on Sunday! ☺️

Midweek reminder: Love is a verb! God showed us an exemplary demonstration of His love. He did not only preach the Gospel but lived it and died for us to save us. Let us be reminded of this as we go through our week and respond to God in ways He called us to love! Have a blessed day! ☺️
