🌊 World Drowning Prevention Day 🌊

Today, we join the global community in raising awareness on World Drowning Prevention Day. Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death worldwide, but with the right education and preventative measures, we can make a significant difference.

Here in Nillumbik, we're proud of the strides we've made in promoting water safety and swim education. Our community's commitment is evident with an impressive 38,000 visits to swim lessons so far this year! 🌟👏

Every visit represents a step towards a safer community. Let's continue to educate, practice, and promote water safety to prevent drownings. Remember, it only takes a moment to make a difference.

🔹 Learn to Swim Programs: Enrol your children in swim lessons to build their confidence and skills in the water.

🔹 Supervision: Always supervise children around water, no matter their swimming ability.

🔹 Water Safety Education: Equip yourself and your family with knowledge about water safety and emergency procedures.

‼🚧 Lighting Upgrades – July 25th and 26th 🚧‼

This coming Thursday 25th and Friday 26th July, lighting upgrade works will be undertaken across Eltham Leisure Centre’s group fitness Studio 1 and reception areas.

There will be impacts to classes in Studio 1 on these days, the studio will be closed while works are completed (see altered classes below) All other group fitness classes remain unchanged.

Thursday 25th July:
🔹 6am – Metafit – GF as normal Studio 1 before room closes.
🔹 9:10am – Tone – Stadium
🔹 10:15am – Body Pump – Stadium
🔹 5:30pm – Body Combat – Wellness Studio (reduced Capacity)

Friday 26th July:
🔹 8:10am – Zumba Gold – Stadium
🔹 9:10am – Body Attack – Stadium
🔹 10:15am – Pilates – Stadium
🔹 11:20am – Yoga With Bub – Wellness Studio
🔹 12:25pm – Body Pump – Stadium

Classes will return to normal in Studio 1 from 5:30pm Friday 26th July.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Maeve, a beloved long term member of Eltham Leisure Centre.

She brought so much light and positivity to every visit and every interaction. Even after her terminal cancer diagnosis, her infectious enthusiasm and unwavering spirit were truly inspiring.

📣 EARLY CENTRE CLOSURE - 21ST JULY, 2024 📣

The entire staff team at your Eltham Leisure Centre will be undertaking their annual emergency management and evacuation training workshop on Sunday 21st July, 2024.

To ensure all team members can be involved and have 100% focus on the sessions the Centre is closed to the public from 6.00pm, with the Aquatics hall closing at 5.30pm.

24-7 gym access will also be unavailable from 6.00pm – 8.00pm with eligible membership holders able to access Diamond Valley SFC and Diamond Creek Community Centre
