The night sky through 58 photos, stacked in a panorama.
How good is sitting and staring at the stars, blows me a ways that the majority of humanity live in areas so light polluted that they may never see the Milky Way. I count my self so lucky I live in a country where can lay in on beach and watch the suns twinkle.
There was something special about this night. The glow of the aurora was absolutely stunning, with colors so vivid. Standing alone on the rocks, looking out at a sea of red, I felt like I was on another planet.
Old boy did a pretty decent job of getting me to stay another day, cheers for this view mate 🍻.
A couple of my favourite stills of the last few months. I like shooting video but photography is somewhere I feel comfortable and confident that it feels like second nature.
These shots took 30 seconds to expose, but it’s taken half a lifetime to create them. It’s been a dream of mine to photograph the aurora australis for years, but weather or time has always gotten in the way. Until last night, when sent me a link to a article about the sun storm, and I realized it was happening in less than 24 hours. I packed my gear, checked the weather apps, and made the call to stay up till 2 am and head down to Redgate, dodging kangaroos along the way. The car park was empty, and the sky was dark, but I was dismayed when I went to the beach to shoot some night lapses, and that’s when the clouds parted, and I stared in awe at my own personal light show.
If you look right back on my work you find that my first photos are of landscapes, My style and gear has evolved so much from a little d3100 to housed up cinema cameras but some times it’s nice to got back and shooting the basics.

I'm pretty proud of this one, first sale to the wsl. Honestly it's kinda something I day dreamed about doing in school.
on golden afternoons
Cutback #1, Taken in a little wind swell that pushed through the mid north coast of NSW, this image shows the playfulness that can be found in conditions like this. I especially life the shadow that has been created by the surfer that is reminiscent of the surfing scenes in Leo and stitch.
