Surfcoast Anglers getting good results

Cured Eel now available for home delivery in the Greater Geelong Region (Wednesday Afternoon/evening at this stage but subject to change).

The eel is prepared in the original manner developed for the long line fisheries back in the day with the major difference being that we conduct the whole curing process under refrigerated conditions. In current testing it's proven great at the staples (Gummy and School Sharks) as well as some excellent results on Flathead, Pinkie Snapper, Nanagi and when tested alongside calamari on a quiet day caught 3/8 King George Whiting despite being handicapped by my overzealous strike.

Haven't tried it off rocks, beach or in the fresh as yet but results are proving far better than I expected so who knows?

Biggest advantage of cured eel is how long the bait will last, particularly in the presence of nuisance fish and we will be delivering it in thermofoil packs with a 1kg -21degC gel pack which I suggest keeping it in and only defrosting small amounts at a time so the bait lasts in its freshest state for a heap of trips.
Lastly if you've tried cured eel from major suppliers before, this may look the same, but is a very different product, we don't just throw a bit of salt on it and call it cured.

Early stage testing (late Feb 2022) of Hooked on Eels Cured Eel as a fishing bait for species other than Gummy Shark caught by Andrew Gramatakos

Hooked on eels cured eels are a great bait for Gummy Shark, Pinkie Snapper, Nanagi, flathead and King George Whiting (that we are aware of so far, still lots more testing to go!)

The biggest differences between Hooked on Eels cured eel and cured eels sold by major bait retailers are the curing process and the temperature control process that ensures the bait is fresh at the time of freezing and in the best condition when it's ready to use.

Hooked on Eels cured eel is a great alternative to pilchard and much longer lasting.
