A reminder to us all today
To Be Kind 🦋
It’s our natural instinct to be kind to others.
We were all born innocent happy bundle of joys.
What shapes the adult we become is our surroundings and the way we’ve learnt to respond.
It is harder to be unkind.
It’s ok to be nice, if you see someone that looks great tell them. If someone needs help, help them.
It’s ok !

When someone is unkind to me I ask why?
Generally their behaviour has nothing to do with me. It’s something underlying in their life.

So firstly be kind to yourself don’t take on other people’s negativity care for yourself & set boundaries.
Listen to what your body is telling you. You don’t have to show up for everyone everyday.
It’s ok to not be ok.
Nurture yourself first.

Secondly: Cut others some slack we can be very harsh on others.
I find when dealing with challenging personalities that kindness & boundaries always prevails.

If the person isn’t your cup of tea that’s ok you don’t need to be mates with everyone.
But don’t become them be Better x

Kindness does & will Prevail.

Definitely painting more Sunflowers 🌻

They are such a happy, vibrant flower.

What am I talking about?

The other day I was having a conversation with a good friend.

I was saying I wish I was more confident & louder so I would get noticed & recognised more.

There are some people that are very confident & just seem to have the answers to everything.

My good friend said to me.. in her country they have a saying..

If you have a jar of coins & you shake them they are very loud.
But when you go to spend them they have not a lot of value.
You need a lot of them to make them worth while.

But…

Paper notes on the other hand are quiet don’t make too much noise, but we know they’re worth a lot more. And you can buy soo much more.

Also when you combine the paper notes you have a lot more to spend.

I loved this it made my day.
I realised I am worth a lot.
I am a paper note 🧡
I am happy just being me x

I thought I’d share that one as it’s a good one x

“Foreign Lady”

This is one of my most cherished paintings. 🖼️
I painted this when I was around 15 years old in art class in senior school. I found this picture of this lady in a newspaper clipping she captured my eye. Because she was different.

I was a very quiet student, the art teachers weren’t a fan of me as I was the different one.
I always added bright things or painted differently from the others. I remember the teacher once taking the brush off me and painting over things she didn’t agree with. Trying to correct my style.
Of course me being me painted back over it 😆Different wasn’t cool back then 😆

But I kept being me.
I knew the world would adapt & one day different would be cool.
Over the years these experiences gave me the confidence and resilience that I have gained as an adult.

I know encourage people to be themselves be different. We are all different with our own identity.

Painting to me is a form of expressing your perspective & sharing it with the world.

I admire this painting because it reminds me that I painted this at 15.
I’m very capable & I have so much resources now.
The world is my oyster literally I can and will paint anything.

So I encourage you to be different be you.

Nothing is more fulfilling than observing the colour palette once I’ve finished a piece of art.

It portrays my colour journey, layers of colours, blended, lightened & darkened.

Mostly if you’re a creative mind CreAte what you want. If you be free and non restrictive to your creativity you will start to create more amazing things & really reflect that in your art form.

People ask me how do I find time to do everything?

My response… “ if you love something you make time”
Also I feel that time is never an issue, I get lost in time creating ✍️🎨💡😍🧡

They really are a vibrant, happy flower.

“Splashing Free”

I was inspired by rare pink dolphins.
I try and focus on making unique pieces and this type of dolphin is definitely very rare and unique.
Dolphins are one of my favourite animals I particularly enjoy seeing them splashing in our local bay or showing off in the waves when travelling on our local ferry.

This piece is currently available to purchase in their Merry Thriftmas exhibition.
Definitely worth a visit a perfect affordable gift for a loved one or yourself.

“Courageous Mare”

In this painting I wanted to depict the meaning of a Mare and highlight the spiritual meaning of this beautiful creature.

Horses are such majestic creatures. A Mare is strong, confident, independent, courageous and free.

I know as a mother and female I can relate to all these traits and know that these are my strengths.

I want to empower others through my art to empower themselves and to reflect on their own strengths.

“Long Day”

Was created for an art prize, you had to create a painting using only black and white. It was a great challenge and it was very much different from the bright colours I’m used to using.
