After a significant break from portfolio, I’ve made the decision to restart portfolio. This means creating 30 pieces from the beginning! My previous pieces don’t fit my vision and I don’t feel motivated to follow that path. Stay tuned for the journey!

In the meantime I’ve started another online workshop by where I can paint, without expectations, just for the fun of it! This beautiful black bird of paradise painting is coming along nicely! I spend 3 hours on this piece last night and could easily have kept going if it wasn’t for my muggle job! It’s been along time since I’ve painted for 3 hours, and I loved every second of it! Thank you for your beautiful workshops ❤️🍃

The perfect gift for a dear friends 50th who is also a crazy lady lady!

A slow weekend is just what the doctor ordered. I haven’t been in the headspace to paint lately, but the thing is, painting is like meditation for me. It calms me, makes me slow down & my thoughts stop racing.

When I was painting more frequently, I’d notice my mood changes if I didn’t paint for a few days. So, it’s time to paint, slow and steady, little by little, every day.

I’m enjoying working on this lesson created by the amazing . It’s allowed me to paint again without the anxiety of ‘stuffing it up’ like I’ve been experiencing with my portfolio pieces. I’ll get back to portfolio soon, I promise. ❤️

My Nan, the original artist in our family, would have been 80 today.
The smell of oil paint brings with it a feeling of nostalgia from my childhood. My Nan loved to paint, and I am fortunate to have received a keepsake of my own from 1991. You are my inspiration to paint Nan, I love and miss you dearly ❤️

I’ve been experiencing artist block & imposter syndrome lately, and I stopped painting. Negative thoughts of ‘you’re not good enough’, you’re not an artist, who are you trying to kid?’ ‘No one is ever going to buy your artwork’. I often find myself comparing myself to other artists and wondering if I’ll ever ‘make it’.

Today I listened to an inspiring podcast from that has given me the motivation to move forward. When an artist reaches a point of artist block, they’re on the edge of a breakthrough, and stopping painting altogether is the worst thing to do.

So today I’m spending the day painting still life’s, just for fun! I can feel the motivation creeping back in and I’m enjoying the mindfulness of just painting. Thank you for your workshop Jane French

Slow progress is better than no progress right?! Returning to the office post-Covid has been an adjustment & my energy & motivation to paint has been lacking. I’m trying to paint everyday, even if it’s only for a small window of time. I’m sure I’ll adjust to the commute in time & find some balance.
