Driving back from a delivery I spotted all these fluro green dots on the road… I spun the car around to find a heap of wild budgies who had obviously flown into an oncoming vehicle. I removed them all off the road and then saw this little guy sitting there - he was still alive! Popped him in a cardboard box and brought him home with me. I contacted a local bird rescuer and dropped him off to get the care he needed! Let’s hope he makes a speedy recovery and gets back with his mates soon 🦜

🚨Nerd Alert 🤓: his “charter” (a group of budgies) were flying off in the distance and my goodness it was breathtaking to watch them dart and swirl in the sky 💚💙💚

On every trip I take lately, it’s crazy the amount of wildlife around at the moment. From snakes/lizards sunning themselves on the road to these tiny Budgies and massive Wedge Tailed Eagles 🦅 Please make sure you slow down, keep vigilant and if you see an animal on the road (alive or not) attempt to safely remove it so other predators aren’t attracted to the road. Also if you come across a dead Kangaroo or accidentally hit one PLEASE check it’s pouch and keep an observant eye open if it’s a female. Sometimes the little joeys get flung from their mothers pouches (a defense mechanism) and will hang closely around their mum. If they aren’t rescued they will also die.

I have plenty of contacts for wildlife caregivers in the mid-west but if all else fails please contact Sanford Vets.

🚘 Things are getting busier lately and with COVID looming around town, I am in need of some more courier drivers 🚘

👉🏼 Days are flexible, at the moment I’m not able to give more than a days notice for shifts (also the reason why I need more staff on and familuar with the job)
👉🏼 Good pay
👉🏼 Early morning start but that means you knock off before lunchtime
👉🏼 Technically an “easy” job BUT I require people with inniative

We have had some pretty amazing sunrises and sunsets the past few days when it hasn’t been black skies 🌅

Thoughts go out to all those that were affected by TC Seroja that hit our region 12 months ago today.

Driving out that way this-morning you notice that there are still pieces of tin scattered around, road signs down, tree trunks where 30 year old gum tress once grew, water tanks/silos crushed along with so many sheds and homes in need of repairs.

Count our blessings no one was seriously injured (or worse) and maybe the only good thing to come out of it was witnessing and being part of so many communities and groups coming together for support 🌪🍃❤️‍🩹

DRIVERS REQUIRED

Essential Criteria:
☑️ Valid C Class Drivers Licence
☑️ Ability to pass a DAS
☑️ COVID-19 Vaccinations up to date
☑️ Ability to work unsupervised

At this point in time I am unable to guarantee a number of hours per week but generally each shift will start at 5am and be for around 7hours. Please do not apply if you cannot work these hours or you do not meet the criteria above.

You MUST:
✅ Have a valid C class drivers license (manual)
✅ Ability to pass a pre employment medical
✅ Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests
✅ Confident driver
✅ Expect to wear full mine site PPE (including but not limited to long HiVis shirt and pants along with steel capped boots)
✅ Must be flexible and available
