Trained by Munce Racing, Poster Girl (Alabama Express-Caricature) was a $160,000 purchase from Yulong Investments at the Gold Coast Yearling Sale and today earns $30,000 for her 6th placing and a further $325,000 for winning the Magic Millions Racing Women's Bonus, earning a total of $355,000 for connections!

The talented 2YO c**t is trained by Magic Millions Racing Women Hall of Fame inductee G*i Waterhouse who trains in partnership with Adrian Bott and together they've had a very busy day, having now won 3 of the 8 races run so far with more chances at the winner's stall to come!

Storm Boy (Justify-Pelican) was purchased by the G*i Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing stable and Kestrel Thoroughbreds for $460,000 from Coolmore Australia at the 2023 Gold Coast Yearling Sale and this week at the sales, the stable perhaps gave us the tip as they purchased the half brother (by Pierro) for $375,000 - they knew what they had in the stable and that that pedigree was about to get a big update!

It was pure MAGIC at the 2024 Barrier Draw this morning, where Patron for Magic Millions Racing Women Zara Tindall MBE was the first Ambassador to cross the line in the beach gallop!

Zara, together with husband Mike went on to draw the $3m The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic, with the four MMRW runners drawing the following barriers:

Congrats to Lindy Maurice of Thoroughbred Industry Careers who tonight won the 2024 National Racing Woman of the Year Award at the Magic Millions Racing Women supported by TAB Achievement Awards. Lindy receives a $50,000 Racing Women scholarship from TAB to benefit her endeavours in the thoroughbred industry.

Congratulations to Queensland Off-The-Track Cup Magic Millions Racing Women Wildcard Gemma Creighton! Gemma raised $6,300 for Equine Pathways Australia and has secured her place in the final on January 7, 2024 at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping.

Magic Millions is working with Equine Pathways Australia to demonstrate the combined priorities of the post-racing career of the thoroughbred and the welfare of both the horse and human.

Equine Pathways Australia provide counselling assistance, support and rehabilitation to bring equestrian dreams to life for riders with an injury or disability, and integrate appropriately retrained racehorses into their programs where possible.

As Magic Millions Racing Women Ambassador for the last 12 years, Zara Tindall, together with Magic Millions Ambassador and husband Mike Tindall sit down with The Australian Women's Weekly at their Aston Farm home to chat all things Magic Millions, their love for Australia and family life.

“The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival has expanded hugely,” explains Zara.

“We have more ambassadors on board now – including Elsa Pataky, Nacho Figueras, Billy Slater and Delfina Blaquier.

“Katie Page-Harvey has lots of things going on with the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping and all those equestrian disciplines running alongside the thoroughbred auctions and The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday.

“I think the number of women who have got involved and have been coming back to the sales since the introduction of the Magic Millions Racing Women initiative has been incredible. It’s an amazing journey from where it started. And for us it’s been a really fun ride.”

QUEENSLAND OFF-THE-TRACK CUP MMRW WILDCARD EXTENDED

Together with Equine Pathways Australia, we have extended the Magic Millions Racing Women Queensland Off-The-Track Cup Wildcard, now closing at 5pm AEST / 6pm AEDT December 11, 2023.

In addition to the 13 finalists from the QLD and NSW qualifiers, a further two wildcards whose OTT meet the entry criteria will be issued:

- A Magic Millions Racing Women’s wildcard for a female industry participant with the highest fund-raising total for Equine Pathways Australia by (money raised by December 11, 2023); and
- A surprise celebrity wildcard to be announced

Entrants are asked to include a screenshot of their fundraising totals and link to their page to be sent via email by 5.15pm AEST / 6.15pm AEDT on December 11, 2023 to [email protected]

Magic Millions and TAB today announced the launch of the inaugural Magic Millions Racing Women supported by TAB Achievement Awards and Dinner for the 2024 The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival.

The Magic Millions Racing Women supported by TAB Achievement Awards will recognise the outstanding contribution of women with the winners of the Magic Millions Racing Women Hall of Fame Award and the 2024 Magic Millions Racing Women National Racing Woman of the Year Award at a celebratory dinner on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

Magic Millions co-owner and Magic Millions Racing Women founder, Katie Page-Harvey said, “The establishment of the Magic Millions Racing Women Achievement Awards supported by TAB is a natural extension of the original Magic Millions Racing Women’s Bonus. The recognition of the role women play in our industry has always been the fundamental premise and purpose of the initiative.”

The winner of the foundation Hall of Fame Award, recognising outstanding long-term (20 years plus) contribution to the Australian thoroughbred industry will be invited to be a permanent member of the Judging Panel alongside Magic Millions and TAB representatives.

The winner of the 2024 National Racing Woman of the Year Award, recognising exceptional industry contribution at a national level over the last twelve months, will receive a $50,000 Magic Millions Racing Women Scholarship from TAB.

Magic Millions is excited to announce a new showjumping competition open to all Off-The-Track Thoroughbreds with riders connected to the racing industry supporting Equine Pathways Australia.
 
The new competition is intended to create an incentive and competition pathway for thoroughbred equestrian enthusiasts via this accessible and safe category (at 90cm), whilst offering competitive opportunity for those who are invested in the retraining of thoroughbred racehorses at the grassroots for equestrian disciplines.
 
15 finalists will compete for $50,000 prize pool at the inaugural QLD Off-The-Track Cup on the Gold Coast at the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo & Showjumping on Sunday, January 7. In 2022, $1.631 million was spent at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale on the purchase of horses registered for Magic Millions Racing Women.

Since its introduction in 2020, the WA MMRW Bonus has been won each year, with a total of $300,000 in Bonus prizemoney paid to MMRW eligible runners in the $250,000 Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic run at Pinjarra.

Plus, 2024 will see the introduction of the NEW $25,000 3YO WA Racing Women’s Bonus which is on offer in the $250,000 Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy. The new $25,000 3YO Bonus will be distributed in entirety to the first eligible all-female owned or leased horse in finishing order in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy.
